It was okay.
+ Chambers was clearly the MVP of the group and deserved better. She was so badass!
+ I absolutely bought Guzman cared deeply for Chambers (and vice versa) which is what made it actively aggravating when she came crashing through the window (like the fucking badass she is) and he didn't immediately rush to her and/or start shooting the zombies. He was right there! Just standing there watching. He doesn't actually react in any helpful way until she gets grabbed all around and then he finally does something by shooting one zombie. Like, dude. What the hell? I liked their silent eye contact moment of goodbye before he blew her tank but the fact that I was incredulously mad at the same time kind of took away from it. That really should have been shot differently.
But then he seemed to have a bad habit of standing around doing nothing when he really should have been doing something. He died because he stopped to yell at Scott to come on in the middle of the room instead of doing as the plan said and continuing on to the elevators. He could have easily made his way there and laid down cover fire. It was either dumbly shot (yes) or he's kind of a dumbass (also yes).
+ Vanderohe and Dieter's relationship was the one I ended up most invested in. I loved the journey from disdainfully rejected fist bump to proud fist bump. Dieter jumping in to save Vanderohe and hauling him into the safe only to be caught himself was angstily great even if it didn't make much sense.
+ Peters was fabulous. I loved everything about her. She was also a great friend.
+ I was amused by Peters doing the survival hierarchy math because I also did it. She'd probably have been pleased that I placed her as number 1 - a way out is far more important then the goal (money), imo.
+ I kind of liked how Guzman (and Chambers) were show-boating youtube stars and you'd think they'd be ineffectual canon fodder who might screw up but ended up actually being surprisingly competent.
+ Lilly sacrificing herself felt unnecessary. She had the Leader at a standstill with the head as hostage and could easily backed up into the helicopter.
+ I liked that Kate is the one who killed zombie!Cummings instead of needing to be rescued by her dad.
+ It bothered me so much that Lilly leads them into Vegas and they all wander off leaving the doors open. Really everything about them getting into Vegas was far too easy but that in particular was terrible. All it would have taken was having another person there to shut the doors behind them. In fact doing that would have only added to the scene by giving us a moment where they see/hear the doors close behind them and have that moment of realisation that there's no turning back.
+ I like when different things are done with zombies but I really don't know how well it worked in this case.
+ The end with Vanderohe made no sense.
+ Martin really is the worst. I can't believe that without him there messing things up they might actually gotten out with the money and no casualties but Cummings. He got Chambers killed. He got the Leader and horde after the group by killing the Queen. They actually might have pulled it off without him.
