The Secret World of Arrietty
Aug. 8th, 2021 09:33 pmIt was okay.
+ I really enjoyed what we saw of the Borrowers lives and how they lived and interacted with human things.
+ I liked that despite how sad Arrietty was to be leaving the last shots of her were her excited and pleased with the new sights she was seeing on the journey.
+ I wish we’d gotten more of Arrietty and Sho bonding. Perhaps them going on a mini adventure?
+ Sho placing the kitchen was thoughtless in a way that had me going 'seriously' but also accepting that it is a thoughtless 'gift' I could see a child doing.
+ How the heck did Sho even know where their house was?
+ There was a deeply weird jump from Sho saving Arrietty and her mother/moving their house/his talk with his aunt about how pleased they were that there were little people around to Arrietty and her family on their journey away to find a new home. It really felt like we were missing an important bridging scene between them. It bugged me.
