Monster Hunter
Aug. 22nd, 2021 11:55 pmIt was good for what it was.
+ I loved the relationship that grew between Artemis and Hunter. The enemies-via-misunderstanding to wary allies to friends was great. I loved them saving each other. I loved their attempts to communicate and how despite not understanding each other's words they grew to understand each other all the same. I loved where they ended up. Basically everything about them was excellent.
+ The fight scenes were really good. Even though I was facepalming through the whole thing the Artemis vs Hunter fights were great. The fights against the various monsters were fun.
+ I liked the monster/creatures.
+ I love the concept of her being transported to another world and having to struggle to survive and her hooking up with another lone survivor from that world, and them bonding.
+ Artemis's team all dying so quickly really surprised me because I was expecting the movie to be about them all trying to survive in this terrifying world together and then instead it was dead, dead, dead all in a row.
+ Was meh when Hunter's team rescued them. Didn't really care about any of those characters or their relationship with Hunter, and the movie didn't really even try to make me.
