• It was nice to see Jin and Sun together again (after what, a season and a half?), and happy together. It’s interesting that is this timeline Sun doesn’t appear to have the problems with Jin working for her father that she had in the original one. Is this because she met him originally as one of her father’s employees and thus wasn’t always comparing the Jin she knew now to how he was before? At one point Jin is called her bodyguard – is that actually what his job is and thus how they probably met? I love that idea. And they were delightful as secret lovers. Also this Jin seems a lot less uptight then the Jin from season one and I wonder what that’s about. Hmm – perhaps season one Jin was obsessed about proprietary because he was married to Sun (and thus moved up from his beginnings) while this Jin is caring on a secret affair with her and so doesn’t have to worry/think about stuff like that since he’s already doing something ‘bad’? I would love to learn how their courtship went in this reality. I keep imagining Sun being irritated by having Jin as her bodyguard, and her exasperating him, and then them slowly getting to know each other and falling in love. I want to see that story.
• I loved that Sun’s father sent Jin with the rest of the payment for Jin’s own murder; so evil it’s delightful.
• I was actually a bit disappointed that it was Desmond in the locked room. I like him and all but I really wanted the ‘special’ kids to be in that room. I mean it would have been cool if Walt, Aaron and Ji Yeo had been in there but I was really hoping for Aaron or Walt because thus far nothing has been done with the mystery surrounding them, what makes them special and their connection to the Island, and those are two of the questions I really want answered.
• "For the fourth time I was gathering mangos and she was already unconscious when I found her. Why won't you believe me?" – Ben
"Because you're speaking." – Ilana
Heeeeee. Although that really is easy to confirm – just ask Sun if Ben was the one who knocked her out and voila confirmed.
• I like the fail safe that in order for Not!Locke to get off the Island all the Candidates must leave as well. But I think it’s also... permissible if they die as well, considering that was the fate many of the others faced, though of course Not!Locke can’t do it himself. He tells Claire that Kate is ‘no longer’ a Candidate – was he telling the truth about that? I don’t know that I believe him. But he was definitely giving Claire permission to kill Kate in his scene with her and I am really hoping it’s not all going to end with Kate killing Claire. Also since Claire is alive but her name was on the list at some point but crossed off what caused it to be crossed off? Her allegiance with Not!Locke? But Sayid is with him as well and we’ve been given no indication that he’s been crossed off. Not to mention I want to know why the hell Kate’s got crossed off since she is both alive and not working for the ‘enemy’.
• “At least you have your voice back.” – Jack. That really resonated with me for some reason. Sun always had her voice it was just the others who didn’t understand and even then she got her angry point across to Richard and the others all the same. I really enjoyed the Jack/Sun scenes and I loved Sun going back to her garden. It really has felt like a million years.
• Jin seeing Ji Yeon for the first time while going through Sun’s camera was a really lovely moment.
• So Widmore is definitely against Not!Locke (and him leaving the Island) which would seem to indicate that he is on Jacob’s, and thus Jacob’s followers (Ilana’s people) side and yet I don’t think it’s going to be as simple as the two groups meeting up and joining forces.
• I’m actually beginning to feel sorry for Not!Locke – in the last episode he took just a little too long to get to Richard and because of that Hurley beat him there and he lost Richard’s allegiance and now he leaves his camp to get Sun, she runs instead of joining him and when he returns it’s to find all his people tranq’d and Jin missing.
