Tunnel Episode 4

+ Gwang-ho/Sung-shik were excellent. I loved Sung-shik's emotional reunion with Gwang-ho, and that Gwang-ho got emotional in return. But what I love best is how they immediately fall back into their previous relationship regardless of how strange that would seem now. This makes me regret not understanding Korean even more than usual because I know I'm missing so much by not understanding the different types of speech. Everything with them after they reconnected was fabulous even without getting the language intricacies. I loved Sung-shik deferring to Gwang-ho and everyone’s completely weirded out reactions to it. Gwang-ho calling him aside and Sung-shik’s hangdog ‘I’m in trouble’ sigh and reluctant slouching after him was hilarious. I love how he immediately falls back into treating Gwang-ho as his sunbae.
+ I appreciate that Sun-jae is a genuinely good cop too and I think it's obvious that he and Gwang-ho will become really good partners. I think he was clearly very upset over Dong-woo's death and angry at himself over it.
+ I am liking Gwang-ho and Sun-jae's very tense relationship.
+ I loved Jae-yi connecting to Soo-jung through her own childhood trauma and her actually smiling at Soo-jung felt like she'd maybe managed to deal with some of that trauma through helping her. That they healed each other a little bit by being able to open up to each other. I found it lovely.
+ Poor Soo-jung. And Dong-woo. This series is doing a very good job of making me feel for the victims.
+ I’m surprised that neither Gwang-ho nor Sung-shik connected the fact that the killer was in the tunnel as well to the fact that the murders stopped and came up with the possibility that the killer might have come to the future too. The killer we see in the church looks older then the teenager Gwang-ho was certain was the killer so it seems not but I still would have thought they'd consider the option.
... okay I went back and the teenager was named Jung Ho-young aka the same name as the serial killer named at the end so I guess he didn't travel to the future. (That would have been cool.) But it seems like Sun-jae's obsession is based not on his (maybe) mother's murder but rather on how he almost caught him and a mistake from his partner let him escape. Is Sun-jae not the son of the victim or does he not know about his mother's murder or do the others simply not know his entire motivation?
+ Gwang-ho marvelling and being confused by the future and future technology is fun but you'd think Sung-shik would take a night and sit down with him to give him a low-down on everything he needs to know about living in the modern world.
+ Honestly the fact that the cops wouldn’t even take a chance on the tip is just bad policing. That Sung-shik wouldn’t have at least sent Sun-jae after him, as he's his partner, especially after Gwang-ho's lecture made me shake my head.
+ It seemed to me that Sung-shik assigned Gwang-ho to Dong-woo expressly because Gwang-ho wanted to question him further and this would give him an opportunity. But Gwang-ho not only didn't appear to pick up on that but he also didn't seem like he was playing Dong-woo during their conversation. He seemed genuinely clueless to the subtleties which is... a choice. A weird acting choice, imo.
+ The cops giving Gwang-ho younger Gwang-ho's mail based on 'I'm an old friend' is utterly ridiculous.
+ I am very curious about who Gwang-ho the younger is and his connection to the older Gwang-ho. Is he part of why Gwang-ho was dragged into the future?
