Loki Episode 3 Thoughts

+ I liked Loki and Sylvie bonding over Loki's memories of his mother and their powers. That worked as a meeting point for the two. Their digression into romance talk on the other hand felt kind of weird and forced. It was a strange direction for that conversation to go in.
+ I am always happy to have mention of Loki&Frigga's relationship so Loki reminiscing about her so fondly and talking about how she believed in him and taught him magic was lovely.
+ I'm happy Loki started using his powers more and the variety in them.
+ I appreciate that the show confirmed Loki as bi.
+ I enjoyed Loki getting drunk on the train and singing Asgardian songs with the other passengers. It was both fun and sad.
+ Sylvie getting blow away after trying to violence her way into the house and the Loki getting blow away after trying to trick his way in, and their amusements at the other's failure was great.
+ All the TVA employees being Variants actually makes complete sense. I love this reveal.
+ The problem with Sylvie is how the heck does she even exist? If she's a variant Loki than she diverged from the sacred timeline at her birth and considering how fast the TVA acts to cut off branching timelines (how fast they have to in order to avoid the red line) then how does she exist still? There are only two options here: 1) someone saved Sylvie from her timeline reset and raised her on the run, or 2) there is a multiverse and the higher-ups of the TVA are hiding it. I'm personally hoping for the latter.
If there is a multiverse could that be what the red-line is about? After a timeline goes past it and the TVA can't easily reset it they instead cover up it's existence (maybe blocking it off?) and erase all knowledge that it exists. This would also give a different explanation for all the grown-up and very different looking Loki's other than 'he's a shape-changer'.
+ Is Sylvie a variant Loki or is she someone only playing that role? I took it as fact in the last episode but this leaves me uncertain. I think it's very open to going either way. The way no names or identifying information was actually said during the discussion about Frigga made me wonder.
+ Why the heck were those random guards attacking people? Sure to give Loki and Sylvie someone to fight but the world is literally ending right then so what is even the motivation of the guards?
