Roswell New Mexico 3x10 Thoughts

I actually enjoyed this episode a lot more than the previous one but I had a bunch of issues.
The initial Michael/Isabel/Liz exchange amused me a lot
Oh, they really are going in the direction of Isobel/Kyle, aren't they? The way he got so immediately defensive of her to the sheriff, his expression after he told Isobel that he lost his cool and Isobel asked "what button could she possibly have pushed to do that" (threatening Isobel button! He has a threatening Isobel button!), and his jealousy when Isobel went to flirt with her maybe new girlfriend all say yes. I'm actually pretty pleased about this because I've been really on board for them since last season.
I loved Kyle's smile when Isobel got so happily enthused about helping people. I liked their parallel journeys this season where they were uncertain about what they wanted going forward or where their place was and both finding it in helping people.
"You have ice powers now?!" - Kyle. LOL!
Kyle was amazing this episode. Twice he put himself in danger to protect the others - first by swiping his desk to break the vials even though Jones was right there, and willing to murder him, and second, by setting the medical records on fire with the sheriff right there.
I like Dallas. I'm very interested in what it means for him, Michael and Is to be a triad. I liked him and Michael bonding over having a similar terrible childhood.
I liked that Liz knew immediately after kissing him that it was Jones not Max.
Isobel/Anatsa are cute. I liked the archery scene.
Wait, Isobel and Michael can speak telepathically? I though only Max and Isobel could? I guess I forgot something very important!
"You can hear my thoughts because it's how our kind speak to each other." When did we learn that?
It really bothered me that Isobel and Michael never mentioned Max once. Isobel! When she was talking to Dallas it was always only about her and Michael. It felt unnatural. It's always been the three of them. Max is the most important person in her life. Why wouldn't she mention him, the third alien in the group, even once? It felt like the show de-emphasising Max to boost up the triad except it didn't make sense at all on a character level.
I get why Max was off with Liz chasing Jones but it bugged me that he wasn't involved in the Dallas storyline at all. Not even a phone call between the pod squad keeping each up to date. I wish we had more of the pod squad and their relationships with each other this season. That's probably my biggest issue.
I don't understand why Isobel and Michael wouldn't visit Dallas's office and simply talk to him. The way they did approach him - first with Isobel trying to invade his mind, then being sneaky with Micahel, then taking him to an isolated location and ambushing him - was completely terrible. Also Isobel realised using her powers to immobilize Dallas was a bad idea but it's still wtf to me that she did it. Speaking of:
The Michael/Alex scene with Alex gently pushing Michael into confronting his past was nice and it was a good moment for them, but all it did was make me wish it had been between Michael/Isobel or Michael/Max.
I don't get why, after learning that they are a triad with Dallas, Isobel and Michael (and Dallas!) wouldn't want to spend the rest of the night together, learning about each other? Or even either Isobel or Michael have any conflicting feelings about it considering that they always considered themselves a trio with Max, and perhaps worrying about Max's place in this. Either option would work. What we got didn't make sense to me.
"My triad. My real family." Excuse me, Guerin?!
I hadn't followed the thought process of Max being a clone to him not being the intended third part of the whole 'there have to be three' thing, so Dallas being the third part of their triad makes complete sense. It's an interesting turn and I'm definitely interested to see how this plays out. But I have to be honest that I'm hoping the ending here is Isobel, Michael and Max forming a triad. But also I don't want Dallas to die.
+ So what I'm getting from this episode is that no one should ever leave anything important in Kyle's office. Ever.
I was confused about why Liz and Max immediately jumped to assume that Heath was working with Jones voluntarily instead of the powerful, megalomaniac dictator forcing him to?
Why the hell would Dallas confide in Kyle that his father told him that he might have to kill Max? He doesn't know him! Even with Kyle saying he doesn't care for Max he's clearly good friends with the others who definitely would object! (Kyle would object too.)
Liz and Max separating when Max has a evil twin running around who has pretended to be him before was a terrible idea. Frankly at this point they're all dumb for having not thought of a secret 'I'm Max for real' password/gesture that Max has to use literally any time he sees someone.
The only negative of the hints towards Kyle/Isobel is how the show ignored any hint of romance for Is up until the previous episode (minus one line implying she was still dating the bartender, guess not) when they suddenly started a flirtation between her and Anatsa. I do not want a love triangle between these three characters but then both happening at the same time makes me think we're getting it regardless. Meh.
