Chapter 4: Sanctuary
+ Baby Yoda being 100% realistic toddler was the best thing about the episode.
Mando: Stop touching things.
Child: …
Child: (stares him in the eyes, slowly reaches out and pushes button)
LOL! I love him.
And then, after telling him strongly and repeatedly to stay where he was, Mando looking down to see the Child standing beside him was delightful. Toddlers are surprisingly fast and quiet, A+ reveal.
+ The other reveal I loved was Mando and Cara having a kickass fight ending in a stand-off only for it to be interrupted by slurping and a cut to Baby Yoda drinking soup and enjoying the show. Mando’s “do you want soup” made me laugh.
+ Loved Baby Yoda copying Mando and lying back, and then getting caught up in the stars. Aww.
+ Honestly Mando was lucky that the Child didn’t decide to stay on the Razor Crest because they do not listen and can not be reasoned with in that way. Saying ‘don’t touch anything’ and then leaving was only going to result in complete messy disaster when he returned. On the other hand, he has learned enough dad skills to simply pick the Child up when he’s not listening and set him in his lap, and it was super cute.
+ I liked Mando being all worried about letting Baby Yoda go play with the other kids but also him letting him walk beside him through the forest and in the tavern had me anxious. That’s the time to be worried! Pick up the small, slow moving helpless baby those times!
+ I love how everyone considers Baby Yoda to be Mando’s kid. Omera calling him “your boy” and Cara “your kid” made me happy.
+ I liked Cara Dune. She was great. Loved her fight against Mando and then the fight with him against the raiders.
+ I liked Omera. I loved her quick thinking that saved herself and her daughter. I was intrigued that she not only knew how to shoot but was damn good at it and how she kept her cool during the battle itself. I was a little surprised that the episode didn’t actually address it in a conversation with Mando. I’d like to see her again.
+ The tavern keeper super not understanding bribery, or pretending not to, amused me.
+ If they’re going to provoke an attack and lure the raiders and their Imperial Walker into a trap why not set the trap a bit further away from the village they’re protecting?
+ You’d think that after the Jawa incident Mando would be a little more hesitant to leave the Razor Crest unattended on an unknown alien world. I guess he feels safe since Jawas wouldn’t settle on this type of world? A part of me wants a running gag now where he leaves his ship to have an adventure and when he returns some new group is trying to steal it/pieces of it.
