Bring It On, Ghost Episodes 1 - 4 Thoughts
Oct. 8th, 2021 08:30 pmIt's cute!
+ Bong-pal and Hyun-ji are great. I really love their bickering. Bong-pal's annoyance and frustration vs her glee in annoying the crap out of him is fun to watch. The exercise sequence was super cute. I liked him teasing her over her inability to say 'kiss' and then just going for it while she was still floundering. I love how easily they've fallen into being a ghost-killing team, and how well they work together.
Bong-pal has already started softening on Hyun-ji a lot - the dress in ep 3 (aww!) and the dinner in ep 4 (awww!) and bunch of small moments like his soft smiles at her - and I do like it, but at the same time I kind of wish the show had dragged out their bitchiness with each other a little longer. But then it's become obvious that Bong-pal is a grumpy exterior around a marshmallow centre so it's not that surprising.
+ Bong-pal is totally going to burn his mother's shoes for Hyun-ji at some point.
+ I love Hyun-ji. I really like how much fun she has and her ass-kicking toughness is great.
+ I'm curious to know why Hyun-ji alone among the ghosts looks like a normal person? The thing that makes the most sense would be her not actually being a ghost. Perhaps she's actually in a coma?
+ I don't find the series very scary but I'm still enjoying the murderous ghosts/haunting aspect of it.
+ Cheon-sang and In-rang are doofuses but I like them.
+ I liked that Hyun-ji defeated Miz the same way she has with the other ghosts (finding their weakness) except this time it was an emotional weakness instead of physical. It was a nice detour from the usual.
+ Hye-sung murdering the orange tabby cat was disturbing and also I hate him now. I am confused about why her scratching him set him off like that when we've seen him brush that off before.
