7x20 ‘Moonlighting’

I really enjoyed this episode! It was funny and the characters were all wonderful as were their interactions.

Things I loved include:

• Gibbs/Fornell = ♥. They’re awesome and hilarious. Gibbs teasing Fornell about his beard and Fornell bugging Gibbs about his coffee intake and them working together and being awesome; I loved it.

• Tony and McGee who seem to be becoming the younger version of Gibbs/Fornell. I love them too.

• Fornell worrying about NCIS putting camera’s in the elevators amused me.

“I’m not acting; I’m genuinely feeling on the defensive. You have a very off putting way of putting people, you know, off. I’m not the first one to say it.” – Susan. Heh.

“Not that I remember.” – Ziva, re: Gibbs ever being wrong. She looked so proud! Aw.

“The fire marshal finally released his report. I think he’s some sort of frustrated novelist or something but it’s a pretty good read.” – Abby. I just really liked that line.

7x21 ‘Obsession’

This was... weird and aptly named.

• Tony’s abrupt obsession over the reporter was just bizarre and I’m having a hard time understanding it. It was more than him just having a long-standing crush on her and respecting her a hell of a lot. Him stroking the arm of her chair at work, and sneaking into her house to play her piano, and his constant staring at pictures of her and his out of control behaviour were obsessive and creepy. It really felt like something we should have gotten some built up to. Instead it was random and then apparently forgotten by the next episode. I may just ignore that this episode happened.

• I thought the final Gibbs/Tony scene was lovely.

• I loved when Tony came in on a stressed and snappish Abby and gave her a big hug and calmed her down. It made me aww. We always have such a criminally lacking amount of Tony/Abby scenes so it made me really happy.

• I did like Dana quite a lot.

• Another thing about Tony's obsession is that it really doesn't seem to work with where the show has been going with Tony/Ziva. TPTB hinted strongly that something happened between Tony and Ziva in Paris and I had a theory that they’d gotten together in Paris but were keeping it secret because it breaks the rules. This episode seems to completely derail the idea that anything happened. It was just weird. Have they decided to drop it?

7x22 ‘Borderland’

This one was great and I liked it much better than 7x21.

• Abby/Gibbs stuff was aces. I loved the lab scene with them having this entire unspoken conversation with the eyes while McGee stands there talking almost completely unaware. I loved the final scene in his basement. I kind of ship the two of them so I could have done without the ‘think of me as a daughter’ line but her ‘I need to know you will always love me’ was heart-breaking.

The fact that the episode started with Gibbs calming Abby by explaining to her that she didn’t need to worry because he always had her back (complete with forehead kiss) makes me think perhaps we’ll be getting Abby trying to protect Gibbs and having his back like he always has hers. I hope so.

• I did not like the return of Allison Hart who continues not to work for me at all and I don’t like what her getting an NCIS employee badge implies (more screen time). I just really want her to go away.

• Claudia Black being in the episode was unexpected but wonderful.

• Ziva was once again regulated to being more in the background, though this time she did take Tony with her for a good chunk of the episode and she did get more to do then in the previous couple. I just really hope we’ll get a focus on her again soon.

• McGee and Abby bring up the Paris trip and realise that Tony and Ziva lied to them so apparently TPTB haven't dropped the whole 'Paris secret' but who knows where they're going with it.
