Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell Episode 4

+ I loved Strange and Norrell's goodbye scene. I loved how sad both of them were about it. I loved Norrell desperately (in his own way) trying to convince Strange to stay with him. The offer of giving over his entire library was honestly rather sad. He's so lonely!
+ I wasn't a fan of Lady Pole's first scene at Segundus's new asylum because in the books it wasn't so upsetting/traumatic for her (her crying out for Stephen was so sad) and instead felt rather hopeful. But then we got that excellent Segundus vs Childermass scene and the storyline ended with that same calm/hopefulness for Lady Pole that was in the books and I think I liked it better.
+ I loved Segundus refusing to let Childermass in and protecting Lady Pole.
+ Definitely interesting that Childermass went behind Norrell's back to try and figure out his secret.
+ I liked the pool scene with Strange and Grant. And the subsequent deeply uncomfortable argument between Strange and Arabella that Grant (and the other soldier) were awkwardly forced to listen too. I kind of love how manners of the time (unable to leave without saying goodbye) forced them into a worse situation (having to listen to the argument). Grant's not really a character that made an impression in the book but I like the friendship between him and Strange a lot.
