The Mandalorian 2x06 Thoughts

You just knew from the title something bad was going to happen and then poor Din had his worst day ever. Poor guy. Even Fennec Shand and Boba Fett looked sad for him when he was going through the remains of the Razor Crest.
RIP Razor Crest! I wasn't expecting that. I thought it was the ship version of a cat. Well, at the very least the most important thing in it survived - Grogu's metal ball (and I guess the beskar spear.)
I really appreciate how stand-up Boba Fett and Fennec Shand were. They made a deal and even though things went to shit before they could reach an agreement, and Boba could have easily left with his armour, they not only stayed but they vowed to help him get the Child back. It's a very stand-up thing to do. I like it. I feel like the three of them have a similar honourable warrior thing going on - or at least I hope so and they don't betray him in the final episodes.
Grogu playing marionette with the storm-troopers - lol.
The opening scene was so adorable. I loved Din saying Grogu's name and his pleasure and happy laugh when Grogu looked at him, and then him immediately doing it again. Grogu's happy purring (and all the noises he made) was so cute. I don't remember him ever purring before but I loved it.
I loved Din being such a good dad in the first scene - his gentleness in telling Grogu to give up the ball, him working with Grogu on his Force skills, him immediately reassuring Grogu he wasn't mad at him.
Poor Din, trying to reassure Grogu that giving him up to someone else is the right choice, while all the while sounding so sad and reluctant, and clearly trying to convince himself as much.
I enjoyed the extended fight of Fennec Shand/Boba Fett(/Din) vs stormtroopers.
Boba Fett honestly made no impression on me from what little I saw of him in previous canon but I enjoyed him in this episode.
I loved Din protecting Shand from fire with his body. I also liked that he offered to cover her escape and that she turned him down.
I don't know why Din was apologising to Grogu about having to go down via jetpack because I'm pretty sure that's one of Grogu's favourite things to do.
Din trying to physically get to Grogu a second time after being knocked out the first made me shake my head so much. Dude.
I was doing a little head-shaking at Din not picking back up his jetpack. Take the time to put it back on before running off!
The show missed a potentially great beat at the end - if Din had his jet pack he could have followed the darktroopers himself, we could have got a little fight end with Din getting his ass kicked and failing to save Grogu. It would have upped the tension going into the final episodes even more. It also would have completed Din's No Good Very Bad Day.
After spending the first minute of the episode calling Grogu by name and seeing him react to it I was really surprised when Din kept calling him 'kid' when trying to get his attention at the rock and didn't even try his name.
I had to laugh a little at Din having left the Razor Crest completely open. This is how it gets stolen by Jawas, Din! Learn to lock your vehicle!
