+ This episode felt like a significant advancement in Zishu's behaviour towards Kexing. For the first time he lets Kexing touch him and doesn't immediately shake him off. He smiles a little at Kexing's glee at the dancers. He calls him a friend!
+ Kexing essentially calls Zishu his soulmate and implies that he'd be willing to die for him! Wow. And Zishu is so distracted that he doesn't seem to register what Kexing just said. Then later "I see you as a soulmate"! I wonder what exactly it means to be a soulmate in this reality?
+ Kexing’s reaction to Zishu flattering/being nice to/talking about fate to Cao Weining – LOL.
+ Loved Kexing sticking his tongue out at Xiang when she did it to him. Such a childish moment for him.
+ So Chief Gao totally killed Ke Xing’s father, right? Perhaps one of the many sacrificed to get the Armour? That would explain part of why the Ghost Valley is targeting the Five Lakes Alliance so viciously (if Ke Xing is their leader.)
Episode 9
+ The way Zishu looked at Kexing when he mused how wonderful it would be to find a soulmate to roam the world with made it so clear that he thought it would be wonderful to have Kexing as a soulmate and it was beautiful. Apparently he's farther gone on Kexing than I realised!
+ Kexing playing his flute all night again for Zishu's health gives me a warm glow. I don't think he even knows what's wrong with Zishu and it's going to be wonderfully angsty when he realises.
+ "As a wanderer in this world, all I need is you." I love that he doesn't try and hide how he feels at all.
+ "I didn't realise that you were actually crazy." OUCH! And it clearly hit it's mark with Kexing too.
+ Kexing was so genuinely upset/disappointed at the deaths of the Four Sages because apparently it's all fun until the wrong people die.
Episode 10
+ It was interesting to see Kexing interacting with his ghost subordinates. We saw how dangerous he was in episode 1 but it's been so long since then, so many episodes of mostly only seeing Kexing's amiable mask, that this was kind of shocking. The ghosts are terrified of him and with absolute reason. Mercurial and volatile don't really seem to cover it. When he asked Xiang if she thought he was crazy and she immediately nodded I was amused but seeing him in this scene - yikes. It only makes me more intrigued by him, tbh.
+ Xiang being a ghost surprised me though it really shouldn't. Is she possessing a human girl? Does this mean that Kexing is a ghost too?? What exactly does 'ghost' mean here? Is it simply like another sect?
+ Xiang getting so angry at Chengling being bullied and threatening to hurt the ones who hurt him was really sweet.
+ "I really thought he was my soulmate. My mistake." Whoa. Huh. Okay, apparently Zishu was a lot farther gone on Kexing than I realised! I thought he was only considering how it would be to have Kexing as a soulmate, not that he thought he was.
+ I like Han Ying and his loyalty to Zishu. He's totally going to die, isn't he?
