Nancy Drew 3x08 Thoughts
Dec. 4th, 2021 11:01 pmThe Burning of the Sorrows
+ I was suspicious as soon as Temperance simply walked away from the lure after saying no so the end reveal that it was all a plot didn't really surprise me. I think Nancy feels bad for Temperance but I don't think this has made her trust her. Or at least I hope it hasn't because that would feel false, imo.
+ I'm curious about how true the memories they saw are. Temperance's end letter to Charity, her "and then we'll finish the work we started", certainly indicates a different relationship from the one we saw play out. Or, was their break-up staged for the Women in White and they were secretly working together? Actually that would make a lot of sense. When Temperance was explaining Charity's fate and how the Women in White split her soul into four I was immediately side-eyeing her story. They're hardly paragons of virtue but why would they go that extreme? Maybe because Temperance and Charity were working together.
+ I like that Park took the reveal about the supernatural with such ease and acceptance, and that he kept his head during the whole situation so well. I continue to also like Nancy/Park.
+ I loved Nancy reaching back to take Bess's hand as they were running away from the Burning Sorrows.
+ I liked that despite Bess saying she was both teams in the end she stole from Temperance for Nancy because that is where her main loyalty still lies.
+ Nancy jumping straight in with "how did Charity die" bluntness while Bess fluttered around amused me.
+ Ace's deadpan "I've developed a feel for these things." lol. I loved him reasoning with the ghost to get free.
+ I knew the ghost was Hanna!
+ I liked that Ryan figured out that the knocks meant something and investigated it.
+ Temperance taking on Charity's face was unexpected. Did the original actress leave?
+ What actually is going on with the Hudson empire/money? Ryan is completely disinherited and Nancy is now the heir of everything and... is in charge of the company? What's happening with that? I know her plan was to dissolve the company and give away everything but that takes time and we haven't heard anything in awhile.
+ Nancy's list of sorrows not including Owen's death left me annoyance-amused. Mostly amused because of course he wouldn't get a mention because he apparently had no impact on Nancy.
