+ Excellent Zishu/Kexing episode. I love their protectiveness of each other and how extreme they will go for each other. The fact that they are willing to die for each other, and with each other is beautiful. That whole scene was so romantic. Zishu cutting off Kexing's attempt to face down Baiyi by confronting him first was great.
The other aspect I love is how much they genuinely enjoy being around each other. This episode had so much of them teasing each other and it obviously makes them so happy. Have we ever seen Zishu as happy as he was when he was teasing and bugging Kexing post fight with Baiyi? They almost died minutes before and he has this huge beautiful grin and laugh. Zishu teasing Kexing about needing help up was very cute as was him saying he'd tell Chengling it was Kexing who hurt him. I loved Kexing teasingly dumping the herbs on Zishu's head (so childish and yet Kexing finds it so funny) and then Zishu chasing him out of the room by throwing some back.
+ Zishu being willing to die for and/or with Kexing is deeply romantic but also think of Chengling! You can't just abandoned your new orphaned son! He can't even cook for himself. I would kill him to lose both of them.
+ I loved how well Zishu manipulated Baiyi.
+ The tension I'm feeling over Chengling and Weining learning the truth and how upset they're going to be and the potential fallout on the liars is starting to make me anxious. I want them to get it over with.
Episode 28
+ Xei Wang being all for allying with Prince Jin because Zhao Jing becoming a Prince or Preceptor meant "no one in the martial arts world would dare say anything about us" made me go hmmmm more than usual.
+ Xei Wang offering to accept Prince Jin's offer, thus taking all the blame if things went wrong, made me wonder if he was planning his own play, but his reaction to catching drunk Zhao Jing in the memorial room seemed to indicate that he was still trusting and believing in Jing enough that his offer was probably true? Sigh. I hope this was the last
+ Happy domestic family Zishu/Kexing/Chengling is very cute. Chengling running screaming with the chicken 'chasing' him made me laugh.
+ Han Ying makes me so sad because his (probable) death feels rather pointless. I love his loyalty to Zishu and that he ignored his orders and tried to help. But what he did wasn't actually necessary. Baiyi had already found someone to help. They knew about the book. The Glazed Armour he found was a fake. Maybe excepting the letter nothing he did/found was worth his life. Plus he probably led Prince Jin right to Zishu. Though to be fair Zishu's not actually hiding anymore. I could be wrong and Han Ying might live and join the Four Seasons Sect and that would be so lovely but I doubt it.
