I ended up quite enjoying it.

It took a couple episodes to get into but by the end I was invested in their stories. I really loved how these characters lives intersected and how they affected each other, both helping and hurting each other. I loved the little unexpected intersections (like young Tyler and Jeevan's meeting.)

 I liked the casting.

Kirstin and Tyler and their complex relationship was excellent. "Stabbing you didn't work" indeed. I was so exciting to see the reveal and while it ended up not being the surprise I was expecting it was great all the same and I rather love that they figured it out before it was revealed in words.

Jeevan/Kirstin/Frank, and the relationships therein, were all lovely and I am so sad that their lovely made family ended so quickly. Frank choosing to die/stay behind in part to protect Jeevan and make sure he wouldn't be alone hurt my heart. Kirstin and Jeevan's reunion after 20 years at the end of final episode was beautiful. In the end they were with each other for such a short time but it was such a deeply important and affecting time that their loss of each other stayed with them so strongly and it was so lovely.

Miranda was lovely and her saving everyone at the airport by convincing the pilot to keep the infected passengers on the plane was such a great end for her. I loved that her comic, that she struggled so hard to finish and that ruled her life so much, lived on after her death and the apocalypse, and affected so many lives.

I have to give Kirstin all the props because she was a really strong and determined little girl, even with all the trauma and loss she suffered, she taught herself and made herself into someone a little broken but someone strong too.

I liked how Elizabeth and Tyler's reunion played out and their final reconciliation.

I like the idea of the travelling troupe going around lake Michigan performing and bringing happiness along with them.

Tyler's Undersea gang/cult of children was... that. Okay, so say a lot of them he found alone/abandoned/orphaned, okay. Except we know he also literal stole children from safe/happy homes and there was some serious brainwashy vibes and frankly text happening with them.

I didn't really understand Alex's fascination with Tyler.
