iariaSeason 1 Theories and Questions
+ Humans either originally came from Kepler-22b or were brought there at some point in the past. I'm going to say the latter just because it seems too complicated on an evolutionary perspective for humans to come from another planet. Plus the person who tried to kill Mother was carrying a Neanderthal skull. So some 40, 000 years ago or so aliens arrived on Earth, left behind the Mithraic religion as a trail of bread crumbs for humanity and returned to Kepler-22b with humans and neanderthals for some reason? Or if it is the former... the humanoids created the snakes, the snakes eventually started a way, the planet was semi-destroyed, the snakes were mostly defeated, some survivors left to make a home on another planet? Hmm. Nope, the first option makes more sense to me.
+ Who is the 'Sol' voice that everyone keeps hearing? A snake creature? Definitely not trust-worthy. Is Sol also Tally? Or is ghost!Tally something else?
+ I'm so curious about what else was on those metal tarot-like cards they found and Paul burned. I hope more of them are found because I want more crazy visions.
+ Is this whole thing - the creation of Necromancers, humans coming to Kepler-22b - to bring the snake creatures back to life? Thus far we've only seen them as giant skeletons - did they go extinct? Who wants to bring them back - the last remnant of the species or a different species? The black cloaked people?
+ There seem to be different fractions on Kepler-22b already. The humanoid creature vs... the 'Sol' voice & the snake creature? Are the black cloaked people more of the humanoids or something different?
+ WTF was up with that head in a box? Was that a Necromancer (spitting up white blood)? Was that a vision of the birth of one of the snakes? We know that the Mithraist's got the plans for the necromancers from their religious texts - from Kepler 22-b. Considering the way 'Campion Sr.' (?) talked to Mother are necromancers how the snake creatures have always been created? By whom?
+ Why all those holes throughout the planet? That literally go to the centre of the world.
+ How did Mother and Father survive going through the molten centre of the planet? The snake baby? They dropped into the hole to kill the baby but somehow made it out the other side with the snake baby far bigger than when they went in - so was that the plan all along? Did the snake need to go through the fire as part of it's growth/survival cycle? It would make sense for why she insisted they had to be right there in that forest, by that specific hole. Is that the only one that goes all the way through? Is the serpent baby meant to end up in the tropical zone? Does that mean that Mother's decision wasn't entirely her own, but rather manipulated?
+ I wonder if the holes were created by the snake creatures? The planet is fairly survivable for humans but not great. And yet it feels like at one time perhaps it was better - did the snakes create the holes, and the creation of the holes are what caused the de-evolution of the 'human' creatures and/or is maybe ruining the surface for life?
+ I'm curious about how the snake being half-necromancer will make it different/unique.
+ We have a Mithraic religion centred around a creator-God Sol -- is there a Mithras anywhere in here? Is Mother Mithras? We have our snake at the end - is there going to be a lion-headed person next season? I'm wondering how much the lore of this show is going to be connected to the Mithraism cult.
