Luca and Ghostbusters: Afterlife

It was cute.
+ I liked the designs of the sea creatures and loved how colourful the movie was.
+ The cat and his grumpy little face and suspicions was adorable.
+ One thing that really stuck out was how there was no main romance. Luca's interest in Guilia was as a new friend who was interested in the same things as him and how for the first time had someone he could talk about it with and learn from. Guilia also seemed to only see him as a friend. Alberto's jealous was about 'losing' his first friend and his newly hoped for plans for the future. There was subtext you could read into but textually it was all friendship and that was great.
+ The end and the jump from the town hating/fearing sea monsters to accepting them within 5 minutes and for no real compelling reason was strange.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife
I liked it.
+ I actually loved everything with Egon. Him being a ghost and communicating with and helping his grand-daughter and daughter at various points was great. I loved him showing up at the end to help Phoebe with the proton pack and how that was shot and everyone's side-eyes at him. The movie dragging out his goodbye past that instead of him disappearing immediately ended up being bit much for me but I was glad Callie and him got closure and overall I liked his inclusion in the movie.
+ The Mini-Pufts were adorable and horrifying and the dark humour moments with them were great. I laughed so much. Kind of wish there had been more of them.
+ I liked Phoebe a lot. I liked her personality and interest in science and how her story played out. The Phoebe/Podcast friendship was very cute and Podcast himself was sweet.
+ The whole sequences in Ecto 1 with the kids ghost-chasing had me going 'oh noo, kids no'.
+ Trevor's storyline was very boring. I was meh about the romance and honestly if the character had been cut from the movie it wouldn't have really taken anything away from the story.
