iariaI liked it okay. I liked how it ended.
+ The concept itself is so out there but I like out-there sci-fi in general and I liked how they played it in the movie.
+ I liked Liu Peiqiang and his whole story a lot. I loved that he ended up being so essential to the continued survival of Earth - first in passing knowledge to his son which was remembered at the exact right moment to verbally fighting to convince the UEG to try and then in destroying MOSS so he could sacrifice himself and the Space Station to save Earth.
+ I liked the sense of scale and how even though most of movie took place in China you felt how the whole thing was a world spanning effort.
+ I loved the people on Earth choosing to embrace hope and trying for the chance of survival. All the rescue teams showing up to help and pushing together was great.
+ I loved the reveal that the Space Station was humanity's back-up in case the wandering Earth failed.
+ I liked how the movie did emphasis people helping each other and being there for each other. The one rescue member in the elevator shaft saving Zi'ang before dying, even if Zi'ang did die immediately after, really stuck out to me in particular.
+ Duoduo joining the Rescue team in pushing and their reactions was a really sweet and amusing moment.
+ The movie kept doing this thing where I'd get annoyed about something (Liu Peiqiang only caring about his son and never mentioning his daughter, or Liu Qi coming up with the idea to save Earth when no else apparently came up with the same idea) and then explaining it at a later date (she isn't his daughter but rather his son's adopted sister only, or the idea was thought of before but rejected as having no chance of working.)
+ The most WTF moment for me was the female member of the rescue team shooting up and destroying the Lighter Core they were transporting. I get her frustration and anger and despair but destroying something that is an essential part to keeping Earth survivable and moving, something that is probably very difficult to create, is such a bonkers and ill-chosen reaction and I'm annoyed that the only woman has it.
