Doctor Who 13x09 Thoughts

I enjoyed it.
+ I loved, loved, loved the Companion support group Graham put together. I love the idea that eventually all Companions (and almost Companions) will turn up.
+ All the character returns were great. Graham was an unexpected but lovely surprise. I loved him with Ace and him vs the psychic paper and him with Dan. Always great to see Kate. Vinder was, weirdly, probably my favourite. I just really like him and I didn't expect to see him again. I loved him with the Doctor and I loved him shooting the Master. Its too bad Bel didn't return with him. Fugitive!Doctor is always wonderful to see.
Then we had all the old school returns. I haven't seen classic Who so the emotional weight/glee wasn't there but I enjoyed Tegan and Ace all the same and I really loved their reunions with 'their' Doctor's and them getting closure.
+ I knew he was in it but I was very happy to see the Master. He was great. Enjoyed his little seismologist play at the beginning. I loved him trying to figure out what to name his plan. Enjoyed most of his nonsense as usual. I rather love that he was who killed Thirteen and forced her regeneration, and I'm sure all the other Masters will be jealous. I'm sad that this is the last well probably see of Dhawan!Master. Also his "don't make me go back to being me" was sad. Poor Master and his self-loathing issues.
+ "We used to be friends, him and me." I loved this so much. I loved that she got sidetracked in saving the day by feelings over the Master. It's been an issue for me with this Doctor/Master the lack of care, especially from Thirteen, especially post Missy, but this hit exactly the right note.
+ Always love the Doctor chatting with themselves and this was no different. My favourite part was Seven rolling his eyes at Eight.
+ The Master's Rasputin dance party sequence was hilarious. The Master as Rasputin is perfect, because of course he is.
+ I liked Thirteen's regeneration a lot. I liked that she got a moment of selfish 'I'm not ready', but that she almost immediately turned to comfort Yaz. I liked their final trip to eT ice cream and watch the Earth. Their non-goodbye was lovely and sad. And I loved Thirteen looking around her TARDIS one last time before going out to watch a final sunset. It was beautiful.
+ I get why they had Yaz drop everyone off at home before the Doctor woke but I really wish they'd given the time for the Doctor to say goodbye them.
+ I liked Dan choosing to leave the TARDIS. It made sense and I thought it was done well.
+ I still don't ship it but all the Yaz/Doctor stuff was great. I loved Yaz carrying the Doctor back to the TARDIS and her calling the Doctor out on not telling her what's going on. Everything with Yaz as the Doctor began her regeneration was heartbreaking. I liked the ending note we got with her affirming that the Doctor was okay and how positive it felt for Yaz too going forward.
+ I'm so sad that I knew David Tennett was returning for the next special because going in blind the regeneration at the end would have been such a marvelous 'wtf' moment. I'm going to assume based on him showing with his own outfit (and that i know Donna is returning) that this is maybe Ten II phasing back to this reality and just borrowing the Doctor's body?
