Do Revenge
Mar. 4th, 2023 11:00 pmI loved it. Very fun.
+ Drea/Eleanor were amazing. Fucked up soulmates, indeed. Loved them start to finish. One of my favourite moments was after the car accident when Drea starts to cry and Eleanor immediately starts wiping away her tears and reassuring her 'it's alright'. Soft and gentle and sincere and yet so fucked up because Eleanor is the one who put her there and is blackmailing her to destroy her, so good. Also I have to mention that short scene where Drea was dancing and Eleanor was watching her and they stared at each other and it was super shippy.
+ Looking back at that amazing description of the girl Eleanor wanted revenge on and to realise it was Drea she was talking about - oomph. Why did they not end up together again? I mean I loved their friendship and how it ended but I feel like they really should have ended up together.
+ The twist revenge reveal about Eleanor worked so well. Perfect. Plus unhinged revenge driven Nora was so great (she did a costume change!) and I loved how it put Eleanor and Drea on the same level as equals.
+ I love that upon realising the truth was out Eleanor dressed up in her most revengey clothes, broke into Drea's house, made her dinner (with candles) and gloated about her plans. Like a date. ♥ Such a great scene.
+ Drea's "you're just like me" made me immediately go 'uh oh' because Drea is a manipulative, conniving, vengeful unremorseful bitch (and I love that for her!) and Eleanor's subsequent quietly thoughtful "I am" made me suspicious so the reveal wasn't quite a surprise.
+ The two romances were fine. They were both cute enough and I liked that both Russ and Gabby encouraged them to be better and didn't accept them being crap. Gabby being into Eleanor's vengeance scheme was great.
+ Loved Sarah Michelle Gellar as the Headmaster. What perfect casting. My thoughts on her were pretty in line with Eleanor and Dreas lol. So hot.
+ I ended up liking Tara a lot and wishing we'd gotten more of her and her and Drea's friendship. She messed up hard but she knew it, and those moments where we get to see it only made me want more, and for her and Drea to make up. She quietly left their bathroom spot for Drea, she felt guilty and missed her, she interrupted making out to talk about her. She loved Drea's viciousness. She was who convinced Drea to keep fighting at the end. I wanted a more obvious making up and acceptance between them.
+ The music cues between scenes were great.
+ Drea being poor but still having gone to camp with all the other's and her driving a teal Mitsubishi (but still having to thrift her clothes) didn't entirely make sense to me but whatever.
+ Needed more Meghan and her love of violence.
+ Loved all the swearing. Not used to hearing it in movies and yet some people are just like that.
