What Lies Below and Extinction Thoughts

I liked it okay until the end.
+ I honestly don't mind the alien/monster turn to things. I like that kind of thing. But that end was far too abrupt and didn't really work for me. The suspense build up until then was pretty well done that it kind of felt like hitting a brick wall and I was left going '...wait, what???' over it.
+ I really liked that Libby didn't convince herself, or let others convince her, that she was wrong to feel the way she did. As soon as she became weirded out she didn't second guess herself.
+ The shower scene was great. Very creepy.
+ Marley was a good friend and I loved her immediately going up to tell Michelle the truth. I did have a couple Marley based issues: 1) the fact that Marley's dad didn't notice her absence and make inquiries about it, 2) that Libby didn't question Marley going home without telling her and that she didn't try to contact her to find out what happened, and 3) I was especially annoyed that John killed Marley instead of adding her to his collection because it didn't make sense to me.
+ John was very hot.
Extinction
I liked it.
+ I became suspicious of the 'aliens' fairly quickly. The one stopping at Lucy crying under the table and the general human shape of them made me guess they were actually human under the suits. I was thinking there was maybe a fraction who were staging an alien invasion to gain control of the world/country.
+ What I did not see coming was that Peter, Alice and everyone else were robots/AI and his dreams were memories of the AI uprising in the past. I really enjoyed this twist. It took a very standard invasion movie and gave it a different feel. Humans being the invaders trying to reclaim their world was great. I liked that there weren't straight-up bad guys or right/wrong sides.
+ I liked that there was the slightest of hopeful notes with Miles and Peter and that at the individual level at least there is the potential for connection and understanding, and maybe that could lead to something more.
+ I liked the humans very alien space suits.
