Rebel Moon

+ This movie would have worked much better as a mini series, imo. The hunting down allies aspect could be expanded to give each character more depth and a chance for them all to build relationships with each other and would hopefully drag less in series format.
+ The biggest issue for me were the characters. They felt shallow and I didn't connect with any of them. Even worse no time was given for any of the characters to build relationships with each other, excepting Kora/Gunnar, and it really hurt the film. They also should have given Kora and Noble a past history.
+ We're informed late in the game that Arthelais is the most hunted person in the galaxy. Her name and deeds are apparently famous. I did not get from the movie itself and I wish it had done a much better job at seeding this in.
+ The world building was eh.
+ There was so much exposition and I found it jarring how it was done. I feel like there had to be a better way of giving us Kora's backstory other than having Kora, someone reserved and hiding from the world, explain her past (as flashbacks shown us) to people.
+ I'm really not sure why a) everyone in the group at the end seemed to have decided that things would be all right now that they'd defeated one admiral and that Veldt would be fine, rather than that they've given themselves a temporary reprieve but with a sword swinging above all their heads ready to drop as soon as the Imperium tracks them down, and b) why if they think that they returned to Veldt with her instead of going their own ways? It's not like there's any deep bond between them. I guess Titus's speech at the end indicated that they were basically creating their own new rebellion with them the start of it, based on their success against Noble?
+ How did they think they'd protect Veldt with so few of people? Also the empire is literally known for destroying entire plants by bombing them from space so...??? I'd find it more believable if she was looking for people to successfully relocate the entire settlement.
+ Not to be completely negative - there were some really pretty shots. Kora saving Sam was great. I like griffins. I liked the robot.
