Chapter 1: Brotherhood

Well this was really fun!

+ The biggest question of this series is of course - will what Yeon is doing in the past change the future? Could he return to a time where Rang didn't die? Yes please!

+ Yeon and Rang were perfect and a delight to watch. I love them so much. That whole opening scene between Yeon and Rang was delightful. I loved Yeon scolding him for smoking, I loved Yeon's proudly telling the soldier "I'm his older brother" and I loved things devolving into fighting because of course it did. While the bickering and fighting was fun my favourite part was how emotionally open Yeon was with Rang. I loved Yeon's tearful reunion with him (while a confused Rang is still in 'murder?' mode). Yeon telling him how much he's missed him, confessing he did wrong by him, saying how happy he is to see him. He's grown so much! Losing Rang really did a number on him. I loved that he made a good try at convincing Rang to let go of his anger and resentment at him for Rang's own good, so that he could maybe have a better life earlier.

+ Rang's title card - Likes: His brother. Dislikes: His brother. - was deeply hilarious and very true.

+ I love that Rang is a terrible mean boss but a completely fair one who gives everyone an equal share.

+ Yeon being embarrassed by his past self's melodramatic sorrow for Ah-eum - LOL. His sadness with himself over how pathetic and ridiculous the 1938 version is - LOL. The eye-rolling! I love it.

+ Yeon really should have skipped fighting himself and distracted past him with the knowledge of Ah-eum reborn from the start.

+ Everything with 2020!Yeon and 1938!Yeon was fun and I really hope we see a bunch more of him. I mean the dude with his face had a picture of Ah-eum reborn, there is no way he's not going to try hunting him down, right? Plus Rang deserves to have to deal with two Yeon's.

+ I loved Yeon being smart enough to have Rang's body hidden even if it ended up not working.

+ Always fun to have people from the past reacting to the future, re: the cell phone. More of this please!

+ I loved how much Yeon just didn't care during his confrontation with the Japanese soldiers.

+ I liked how the episode handily answered the question of why Yeon wasn't human when he said he was in the first season's finale, something that bothered me intensely at the time (though less so when I rewatched the episode). And what a beautiful answer it was! Yeon bargained away his much desired humanity and gave himself back up to servitude to Taluipa in order to assure Rang could be reincarnated was perfect. Loved it.

+ So is the reporter really not Yoo-ri? If not why bring back the same actress? I guess she could be Yoo-ri's previous life? I can't actually remember how old she was but she was a young fox wasn't she? Hmm.
