Rong Hao choosing to sacrifice half his cultivation to save Changheng's life and then denying later that it was because he cared for him was excellent. I really liked their conversation over Changheng immediately leaving again for the Cangyan Sea. I liked Changheng's passion and regret in how he pushed Lanhua away and the danger she's now in. I liked Rong Hao telling him that he's the only person Rong Hao's cared about since his master's death (which could be a manipulation or lie but I don't think so.) I also really like how this lays out Changheng maybe being able to understand Rong Hao's actions once the truth comes out even if he doesn't forgive him.

I liked how Qingcang's suppression ring is coming into play in these episodes. The way he'll sit and contemplate it, the weight of those times when he chooses to remove it and thus actively choosing to feel her emotions. Him doing it before sending the flower petals so that he could feel her happiness was lovely. His uncontrollable reacting during her experiment was hilarious but also why oh why did it have to be in front of an audience! Stop doing this to me show!

I love that Lanhua is excellent at healing plants and the source of Qingcang's emotions/lack thereof is visualized as a tree.

Rong Hao disguising himself as Changheng and 'saving' Lanhua as a manipulation tactic was excellent, and I always appreciate when characters are smart. I also liked Lanhua figuring out herself that it was all an illusion.

I continue to love the misapprehensions. Qingcang telling her "even in thousands of identical orchids I'd find you in an instant" and him thinking of it as a warning and her being so moved by him.

Qingcang ignoring people's questions about where he's been for the last 30, 000 years and why he abandoned them makes sense but I really wish that Lanhua had told that old woman (and thus the rest of the women) that he had been captured and held prisoner.

I love that the founder of the Moon Tribe and the first Moon Supreme Yan was a woman.

Lanhua was wearing her bracelet when she saved Jieli so she never should have been cut or need to be saved. We see what happens when she's wearing it and is in danger; it should have blown the guard across the room.

I really appreciate the show bringing Jieli back and spending the time to build a friendship between Lanhua and her. Jieli being so moved by Lanhua saving her because she's the first person to ever do so was lovely.

Xunfeng defends himself that he wouldn't do something to hurt his people but uh, what about all those guards he took out in his attempted coup? They are two separate things, and sacrificing people to make evil spirits is certainly a different level of evil, but still kind of disputes his protestation.

"why you" seems the obvious question of a man who faces having to do something horrible to his son he loves to save his people. Or at least having come after seeing him playing with his son. So the reveals Lanhua uncovered weren't really that surprising.

Shangque knows about the connection between Lanhua and Qingcang, right? Yes he does. So him warning Lanhua that Qingcang might torture and kill her despite usually being protective is pretty ridiculous of him to say. No, no matter what Lanhua does there is no way she will be tortured or killed because that will just be Qingcang torturing and killing himself! Nonsense.

The supposed burned out chambers of the previous Moon Supreme was some very bad set dressing.
