I liked it fine.

+ I was happy Elodie chose to save the dragon at the end. I liked that they got their revenge and then left that land to return to Elodie's home together.

+ The dragon's rage was certainly understandable and there's certainly a sense of schadenfreude towards the king with her punishment. (Though presumably since his line continued he also had sons who didn't have to be sacrificed? Which fuck that? Like why not end his line since he ended hers? Makes no sense!) But at the same time those princesses were innocent. And every girl murdered after were innocent (and would have been even if they had been his actual descendants) and none of them deserved what happened to them. Her continuing vindictiveness and active gleeful cruelty, was not reasonable or really understandable. She should have just kept the king alive to torment until he died instead. (And yet I'm still glad she survived.)

+ I liked everything we got of the previous sacrifices. Victoria especially I wanted to know more about. The short glimpses we got of them felt meaningful. I liked how their attempts to survive previously helped her on her path to survive. I liked that they were actively trying to help/comfort those who would follow. I liked that they wrote their names. There was one who seemed to be tending to another girl which means that on occasion multiple of the sacrifices would survive the initial trial and I wanted to see more of that too.

+ I liked that the stepmom wasn't evil or uncaring. Her realising that something was wrong and not ignoring that was great.

+ I liked the healing bioluminescent slugs.

+ I liked the crystal wall and that scene even if I do think it's pretty unbelievable that she didn't get way more cut up climbing it.

+ Honestly I felt bad for Henry. His mom was right that he was weak, and in being that, he did something really evil but he wasn't cruel or malicious. He clearly felt bad for what he was doing while also feeling trapped into doing it. I get why he died but I wish he'd survived.

+ All I could think over the burning castle at the end was that a whole lot of innocent people probably died right then.
