iariaI'd say same level of ridiculous fun as the sequel which I accidentally watched back in September.
+ We got a lot more of Cole and Bee's friendship and they were super adorable! I loved them. They had such good chemistry, a very enjoyable back and forth. It was clear how much they genuinely enjoyed being around each other. Their intensity during the interrogation scene was great. I loved their final goodbye and that Bee wasn't at all mad.
+ Cole and Max were delightful fun. Their confrontation after Sonya's death with Cole's "...no" (lol) and Max being so impressed. Max actually stopping mid killing Cole when the bully shows up egging the house and instead encouraging Cole to stand up to him (the kiss to the head!) and then him giving him props for trying. Max being impressed with Cole's determination to live and fighting spirit. The fact that Max died largely because he wiped the egg off Cole's face (so he could die with dignity) and thus his hands were too slippery to save himself. I loved all of it.
+ Max was my favourite of Bee's friends. He was just so ridiculous and good humoured and having fun, that he was a lot of fun to watch.
+ I enjoyed the cult's entire interrogation of Cole. Cole getting caught on why Max didn't have a shirt on, heh. Sonya feeding Cole the cookie was so weird (John's expression lol). I loved how Cole kept it together during that whole scene.
+ Cole's increasing 'wtf' and tired exasperation with the situation amused me a lot.
+ I really have to question Cole's decision making. Once he escaped the house he should have probably run to a neighbours for help rather then playing home alone. Ramming the car into the house also made me go 'but really?' although I give him props for his determination to stop Bee from hurting any more kids.
+ I guess Bee had devil-giving cover up abilities because how the fuck did she get everything cleaned up like that, in that short amount of time? Not possible! There should be so much proof even after clean up. The cops weren't suspicious about their fellow cops very suspicious deaths even of their bodies were found in a different location? No one other than Melanie heard the gunshots? Hell all the neighbours should have heard the explosion/yelling etc after the police sirens. I'm having a hard time buying it getting cover up.
+ Cole and Melanie hiding in the bathroom and having a heartfelt talk and kiss was not great timing.
