BOSS 2x01 - 2x03 Thoughts

- I preferred last season’s opening scene with Eriko waking up in Nodate’s bed to her waking up in her own with a stolen police – uh, doll.
- “That would never happen to Kimoto. She’s outstanding.” - Eriko ♥
- The Mami/Nodate scene on the roof was nice.
- I figured out who the killer was in the scene where she complimented Eriko on her jacket.
- I liked that we got that last Eriko/Reiko scene and that it was about Mami. I hope we get to see Reiko again.
- “Hey, hey. You even supposedly had a fight with me.” - Nodate to Eriko I love how he says this – like it’s completely unbelievable that he and Eriko could fight.
- I was disappointed that it appears that no one has really grown or changed much in the two years between the seasons. I mean there is some growth like Katagiri using a gun comfortably but I guess I was expecting more positive changes in all of them.

- “Because we’re a team.” Oh, Mami.
- I love Eriko playing cat-and-mouse games with the bad guys especially when they’re women. She always has such great chemistry with them.
- I loved Mami being her usual brilliant self and figuring out a method to get a message to the others. Actually it's basically a repeat of what she did the last time she was kidnapped.
- Eriko's gambit with the press conference was really risky! If Yamamura wasn't such a weirdo he would have ended up with a bullet in the brain.
- "I knew that you'd come for me. That you'd find me no matter what." - Mami to Eriko. ♥ SO MUCH LOVE!
- Eriko and Nodate’s play bickering makes me happy.
- So far I'm mainly neutral about the two new female characters - Sachiko and Rika. I liked Sachiko's introduction but I'm more intrigued with the possibility of Eriko taking on a mentorship relationship with Rika similar to what she did with Mami.
- As a method to get rid of Mami, since the actress wouldn't be in the full season (?), this was pretty good. I actually wasn't expecting to see her at all so it was a great surprise. I'm just really glad that that didn't a) kill her off, or b) mention she left and then forget about her existence for the rest of the series. I hope we get to see her again in the final episode.

- I love how implicitly Nodate trusts Eriko and her opinions. I love how he just steps back and lets her do her thing while playing interference with their bosses.
- I also love that Nodate is more competent then he tries to come off. He and Eriko are similar in that regard.
- I found the reason for the killer's murders to be a bit ridiculous but the situation with his son was sad and genuinely moved me. Just the idea that he abandoned his family, even though he loved them, because he was so so afraid that he would end up abusing them like he was abused worked for me.
- I liked Nodate/Eriko hanging out at the bar together at the end.
- Why is Eriko ignoring Mami's call? Does she feel guilty? Is this tied in with Mami taking the fall for the shooting in episode 1? I love that Mami and the Mami/Eriko relationship is still a part of the show.
