12 Monkeys 2x11 Thoughts

This honestly felt like a season finale.
+ I am confused about the Jennifer situation. If 2016 Jennifer is brought into 2044 to lead the Daughters then how can she have formed the Daughters in the first place? I guess it means that Jennifer always went to the future and then returned to the past to create the Daughters and that Jennifer at least is in a predestined loop. Except the way Old!Jennifer talked about not taking the Daughters to Titan when it was her turn and encouraging Jennifer to choose differently, which she does, seems to preclude that. Is this Jennifers from different timelines?
+ Old!Jennifer telling her younger self "I love you" got me in the heart. I love it so much. I love them laughing at making the same joke.
+ Old!Jennifer encouraging her younger self and trying to give her the strength to make a different choice, to be brave, to be better was lovely. That said Old!Jennifer making the choice to hide because she didn't want to risk the lives of her Daughters wasn't a bad thing to do. She should care about them!
+ I always love Cole and Jennifer. Jennifer wasn't wrong in asking "have I ever said no to you" and I find myself increasingly wanting to shake Cole. Yes, Jennifer can be frustrating to deal with in tense situations but she's also always been there for him and I really want him to be there for her to the same extent. I guess what I want is him to be more supportive of her and more emotionally receptive to her. She tells him that he's going to loose someone he loves during the mission and I want to see his love for her more going forward.
+ Cole/Katarina continue to be one of my favourite relationships of the show. I loved Cole reassuring her that "I'd never have done any of this if I didn't believe in you." They have come so far from where they started! I loved their goodbye. I loved Katarina rushing over to tell him "Thank you. For believing in me." and then Cole pulling her into a hug. ♥
+ Katarina headbutting Ramse after coolly telling him off for pointing a gun at her ("I assure you there won't be a third time.") was AMAZING. I love her so much.
+ You know I think I have to shake my head in wonder and agree with Cassie in not understanding Cole and Ramse's relationship. Once again we have Ramse betraying Cole, we have them pull guns on each other, we have them working at odds against each other - and then in the end as they part ways Cole gives advice on how to be safe and Ramse's tells him "I'll see you soon" and there is a surprising lack of enmity all around. Honestly I love them. Their relationship is great. See also this exchange:
You can't know. You've never had a family. You've never had a son.
I always thought you were my family.
I love you too.
♥ All while holding guns on each other, making threats and working against each other.
+ Ramse bringing up that Cole isn't a father so he doesn't understand just makes me think that Cole will end becoming a father.
+ I love that Cole knew exactly what was going on with Cassie and called her on it - You'll still be afraid. Of yourself. Because you let him in." and earlier calling her out for shutting down emotionally to run away from the pain - and that in the end she chose to go after him because she was done with running and being afraid.
+ I loved Ramse knowing with just an exchange of looks with Cassie what she wanted and needed, and him stopping to let her join Cole without a word. Also once again we have Ramse being weirdly protective of Cassie. This time when he quietly asks "who did this to you? Cole?" over the handcuffs which felt a bit much. I just found it interesting.
+ Cole going back to form and deciding to kill Dr. Adler and then Cassie tackling him, and them fighting was a fun sequence. I was surprised that she so handily kicked his ass. Yes she's become a fighter but she's only had a year of that while Cole grew up fighting, though I suppose he was holding back since he didn't actually want to fight or hurt her. (Also he's never been an amazing hand-to-hand fighter so I guess she could already just be better at it.)
+ I'll be honest Katarina dying really did surprise me because when she ended up back at the chair and I saw it was still on I was so sure she was about to use it to send herself back in time. How neat would it have been to see her on a mission with Cole and Cassie, trying to stop the final paradox? Or considering how dissolved everything else maybe she'd end up somewhere completely unexpected. Either could have been fun but instead - death, boo.
+ Poor Hannah just had two mothers die on her within like an hour. That's rough. Still not really sure what they're planning to do with her as a character.
+ The Daughter's unwavering devotion to Jennifer is lovely in that I'm glad that Jennifer finally found love and loyalty but also it has become very clear that it is also very culty. Their threat to kill everyone if Old!Jennifer dies and that Old!Jennifer seems to think she couldn't stop them and doesn't even try to convince them against it, and that they immediately bow to and agree to follow Young!Jennifer all equals culty cult cult cult. And the thing about cults is that you can't really trust them. I'm a little worried about Jennifer going forward. I hope her new Daughters don't turn on her like the Hyenas did.
+ Great Cole/Deacon scene. I loved Cole given Deacon a pep talk and talking him around to his side. I was intrigued by Deacon comparing Cole to his dead baby brother. The way he said 'you even talk like him' makes me wonder if Cole looks like his brother, and also if this is why Deacon has seemed at times to have a bit of a soft spot for Cole? (Even with all the murder attempts and torture.)
+ "Do you want to sword fight? Relax you couldn't take me." LOL. Deacon hitting on Cole, which is what this 100% came off to me as, was amazing.
+ Deacon all casually being "oh no it's personal", lol. Deacon going off all jealous and half-cocked at Ramse and accidentally shooting Jennifer, sigh.
+ I loved that for all that Marcus was a little cool with Katarina and did join Ramse's coup he showed his true allegiance when he threatened Ramse if anything happened to her. I liked it.
+ Dr. Adler's little rant about how they hadn't accomplished anything doing it Katarina's way made me shake my head. The Plague - they managed to shift the timing of it's release which led to a lot more people surviving it then initially did, which is a change. The Messengers - they literally did stop a bunch of them either killing them before they could start their mission or killing them before they could complete it. They lost some but they won some too. This Adler isn't even the initial one! I can understand loosing hope (especially when things are getting bad and you have a devil in your shoulder stroking your worry/anger) but he's just factually wrong here.
+ The appropriate reply to Ramse stating that "I'm already dead" is something like 'well everyone else isn't and there's no justification for taking them out with yourself' but also to get that man some serious therapy.
+ Poor Thomas just can't win no matter the timeline. Better luck on your third life! (I hope he keeps coming back.)
+ So where did Deacon and Marcus and Adler end up? I can't see Jennifer and her Daughter's bringing them along to Titan so did they run off to where ever the rest of the facility was evacuated to? We didn't see them die so I'm going to assume they didn't.
+ The lack of people in the control room seemed a bit dumb. They had to have had more than two people on their side for the coup, even if one of them was the military man in charge. I guess they can't have had too many people and thus were spread thin in protecting the facility but it still seemed like Jennifer's Daughters took the room far too easily.
This honestly felt like a season finale.
