+ I loved that Athan visited his parents. I loved that he went to them even though he spent his whole life running from them. In the end they both did have a part in shaping Athan, both had an impact on him, and helped guide his steps, if even only for a short conversation. Cassie's visit was because Athan needed advice in his despair but I'm curious about what precipitated Cole's visit - Sebastion's death?

Cole's visit was definitely a learning trip where he wanted to know about Cole specifically. I love the refrain of how much in common the two of them have. Never knew their mother, only a few memories of their dad, and fearing what they will become. But we've seen what Cole is becoming and it's good and kind and trying his best. Does that give us a footprint for what Athan will become? Cole gave him the understanding that if you find something joyful that you loved then it is with everything.

Cassie meanwhile met Athan while she was in her own grief and rage at losing her first patient so of course her advice would be her railing at time, at death, and how you can't stop either even if that's all you want - for everything to stop.

+ Aww I wanted to give Katarina all the hugs. She was so defeated sitting surrounded by Jennifer's drawings. She has always had such a spine of steel and determination to see this to the end but everything that has happened recently - Cole's switch to 'enemy', her bringing Jennifer to her breaking point, and perhaps even her torture of Olivia - has really worn her down.

+ So I got some Katarina/Olivia vibes with their scene that I am very much here for. What was with that face touch? "You are better than me. In every way. It began with you. Finish it. I liked this scene but I am side-eyeing Olivia hard. Can I believe that she, who thinks she is superior than everyone, would admit to thinking any one is better than her? Hmmm, skeptical. I know that they are playing on 'enemy of my enemy' rules but Jennifer doesn't trust her and neither do I. She is absolutely going to betray them somehow. Is she going to be why the base is destroyed? Maybe have them kill The Witness and take them out herself and then ???? profit?

+ Jennifer tricking everyone by playing into her crazy in order to escape her imprisonment was brilliant! I enjoyed her little meeting with herself (and old!Jennifer's agreement that the non-English was always annoying) but I was feeling really sorry for her and wanting someone to save her from the cage. So her saving herself, with a little hinting from herself, was amazing. I loved that reveal.

+ Interested to learn that Jennifer's voices are those of all the other Primaries talking to her, trying to tell her something. Is this why Jennifer is potential the most special of all Primary's? Because she connects to every other one?

+ I appreciated Katarina telling Jennifer how much she will always be grateful for what she did for Hannah. I liked how clearly emotional she was. You can see the regret in her that she pushed Jennifer into (what she thought) was a full break down.

+ Deacon made me awww over his worry for Jennifer. I loved his determination to help her because he killed her once before and won't let anyone do it again - even Jennifer. I loved his very sincere "I'm sorry" and then after she winks at him "Like a fox." And he didn't tell Katarina the truth so point there too.

+ I liked Eliza and Athan/Eliza. She was clearly a very kind and principled woman. I enjoyed their interactions and that she made him work for her respect. Him helping out in the hospital in order to spend time with her was sweet. That said I'm curious if this is a forever type love where they will be reunited or if she was more of the motive for him turning into the Witness and part of saving him will be in him learning to let go and accept that she can't be saved.

+ Athan telling Eliza to not be afraid made me roll my eyes a little. Shooting all the men around her was perhaps understandable but picking up the leader and having a short chat before slitting his throat was probably a little over the line. What did he expect?

+ Watching the person you love die 607 times and failing to stop it every time - yeah, I can see why he went crazy with grief. That first time she died and he felt it immediately was a great little moment. I liked that he couldn't see her death and that's what first drew him to her; especially considering how terrible it must be to see the death of every person you meet, how it must make it harder to connect emotionally to people. But then to get blindsided by Eliza's death like that, the shock of it for the first time. I sympathise.

+ The fact that Eliza couldn't be saved no matter how many times he tried (and he had to have brought her to other time periods, no?) means that Time has probably made it so right?
