Legacy

Oh Jennifer why WHY? Her taking the tea may have been one of the dumbest things anyone has done on the show. And actually I do get why - she has been struggling hard without her visions, she's finally normal and she is not dealing with it well especially since it now feels like all the pressure is on her to save the world and she no longer has any hints or ideas - so I get her desperation, her need to ask the seers for all the answers she is now lacking. But also wtf Jennifer?! She were warned that The Witness would be able to follow her! But she still did it and acted upset when pulled from her possession that oh yeah The Witness knows everything now. No shit! The Seer wasn't wrong to call her a fool.

Katarina blurting out "I'm dying" instead of following up with Cole potentially keeping another secret was such a great character moment tbh. Because we know that she's realised that things went wrong in large part because they didn't trust her and so this is her offering her olive branch, her secret up first. Probably it was easier to do because Hannah already knew but also she could probably see the splinters already beginning again. I loved her little speech and her calling them family. I liked her request that they act like one and Cole then choosing to share his secret about his mother.

I was glad to see Elliot Jones show up again because he felt like a hanging plot thread. I enjoyed his reaction to Katarina and her time machine. I thought they had some nice chemistry. His response that he 'already had a brilliant and beautiful woman' was great. I loved that Katarina got some closure with him. (Wow is this season giving closure all over the place! Worrying!) I like that he got the chance to make up for Titan in a small way, and that Hannah got to meet her father even if for a short time. I can't believe they killed him. When he showed back up I thought he'd be sticking around for awhile. With Katarina's illness soon Hannah could lose both her parents which is too sad.

Thanks Elliot for giving our team a name - "Team Splinter".

"I wanted to be great at something I was good at. Not afraid of something I wasn't." Understandable, human. Also what went down with them now makes a lot more sense.

I could get Cole's worry about the group turning on each other again and his desire not to delve into his past but at the same time secrets are never the right choice! We were just here and it went terribly. Sometimes you need to simply trust. I was glad he told Cassie instead of keeping it to himself and then really happy when he told the truth at the end.

Cole felt very on edge this episode. He yelled at Jennifer! I liked that during their final meeting when he was being a dick to her about Deacon and then on keeping her loss of Primaryness a secret from them she turned around and went on the offensive against him and called him out on his own secret keeping.

I am so confused why Jennifer no longer has voices or visions. Is she somehow no longer a Primary? Why and how?

Even if it was diverting attention from herself props to Jennifer to being observant and immediately clocking what was wrong in the saloon.

Speaking of observant I really liked that Cassie noticed something wrong with Jennifer and clocked to what was actually going on. I love that she was understanding about why she kept quiet.

Cassie's smile when she saw Deacon, aww. She was so happy and relieved and I hope he noticed that.

Regardless of whether Deacon is playing the long game (please, please) or not he is absolutely on Hannah's shit list forever for killing her dad. I don't know if she will forgive him. He might be getting a second face scar to match the first she gave him. He is now two for three in killing her parents. Let's maybe keep him away from Katarina for awhile.

Jennifer believes that Deacon is still good, still Team Splinter, and Jennifer should be listened to a lot more so I'm choosing to believe she is right.

It's always nice for a father to appreciate his daughter's skills. I liked that Elliot didn't even flinch at Hannah throwing knife murdering a dude.

I'm facepalming a little at Katarina musing about having "no legacy in sight" what? What??? She was the co-creator of time travel! She's devoted her life to saving the world! And some people consider children also a legacy and she has a daughter. What even. Just because they haven't succeeded doesn't mean she hasn't given them the tools to escape the destruction of everything and that is absolutely worthy of being a legacy.

So I was wrong on every point about Olivia's baby. A part of me wishes that they had managed to seed Emma into a previous episode or two. Regardless Olivia putting her daughter in as a spy on the two people who created time travel was a great idea. The thing that sticks out to me most about Emma was her talk with Katarina about devoting your life to something and family and specifically this part - "Love them or hate them, they're yours, right?" I wonder what Emma truly thinks of The Witness and what she wants to create. Could there be a hidden ally there?

"Calamity Jane and Mad Maxine", lol.

To be fair to Jennifer though - why the heck did that Primary pour the tea and put it beside her? If she shouldn't take it then why have the temptation there? What was his plan for it?

I enjoyed Cole taking the lead in trying to calm the situation and then Cassie and Hannah killing the three guards and his "thanks little ladies" after, lol.

Jennifer definitely got all those Seers/Primary's burned to death because she led The Witness to them didn't she? Sigh

With the deleted scene - I really liked Jennifer trying to talk to Time via the machine again though I can see why it was deleted.
