A Land Without Magic

- I loved the direction the Emma/Regina fight went in – that Regina confessed and Emma immediately went to “what do we do” and then they worked together to save their son. That was great.

- Rumpelstiltskin’s constant ‘dearie’ to Prince Charming got a bit annoying but I like that he uses it indiscriminately as far as gender goes.

- Regina reneging on her deal with Jefferson made me shake my head a lot. Especially when she then left her unconscious/dying son alone with him. He may not have had the will to kill her directly but that doesn’t mean he’s harmless and she should know better.

- So is August dead? I'm guessing when the curse is broken he will become his Pinocchio self again.

- Aw, poor Maleficent. Does this mean she’s dead even if the curse is broken?

- Why would Regina trap her one friend as a dragon in Storybrooke? How could she even do it considering there is no magic in Storybrooke? A dragon is pretty magic!

- I was actually expecting Emma to solve the problem by talking to Maleficent and making a deal with her.

- Why wouldn’t Regina have entered Henry's room with Emma? It doesn’t make sense to me that she wouldn’t go to his bedside. Unless – guilt?

- Oh, Gold, when he saw Belle… that was great. While I also liked their scene at the end of the episode, and him actually saying he loved her back was huge, I kind of wish that we’d gotten more of amnesia Belle interacting with Gold. Of all the lost possibilities with the breaking of the curse that’s the one that bothers me the most. I want Gold awkwardly wooing and trying to protect Belle and maybe getting to see her falling in love with him again or them becoming friends.

- I thought that Gold was using the true love potion to get Baelfire back.

- I am really surprised that the curse was broken just like that. I thought for sure it would take a hell of a lot more effort on Emma’s part, including trying to convince everyone of the truth, and I am a little disappointed we’re not going to get that. Plus it would have been nice if Emma as the saviour had involved more – effort, work or sacrifice on her part. It was a little bit ‘really? that’s it?’ for me.

- I loved Regina’s smile at the magic returning. It certainly works in her favour.

- Hopefully next season will give us a lot more about the Regina/Henry relationship. I think at this point it's clear that she does love him but that just makes his attitude towards her stand out more. He was pretty unmoved towards her at the end. We still don't even know why he dislikes/hates her beyond thinking she was the Evil Queen.
