BOSS 2x08 Thoughts

iaria+ After how the last episode ended I thought for sure we were going to see Mami again and learn what's going on with her. If that was even her on the phone. But considering how previous episodes ended I think it's likely. I find myself wondering if perhaps she's on an undercover assignment or something.
+ "Date? She's supposed to be slow when it comes to matters of love." - Nodate Ha, he never thought the omiai would go anywhere and when it seems it might he's not pleased. I love how this is the only line he says in the scene and then just sits there contemplative as the others talk around him. And that he immediately takes her aside to try and put a stop to it. He denies being jealous when she asks but I'm not convinced.
I like the blocking of that scene as well. The way they stand mirrored with their arms crossed and the way he very awkwardly smacks her shoulder. Since when is he so awkward physically around her?
+ "Anyway, I'm relieved. That you came back safety." - Nodate Obviously but it's nice to hear him say it.
+ I really liked the Eriko/Ishikawa scene where he's revealed as the killer (even though I saw it coming long before; this was a very obvious case). It was an intense scene (even knowing that Eriko was faking her fear.) And the music was perfect.
+ Once again Eriko is just surrounded by coincidences. She just happens to be set up on an omiai with a copy cat serial killer who becomes her team's latest case. And the omiai happens just as he starts killing. Really?
If the timing had been only slightly different I could have fanwanked it by saying that his first meeting with her (which as he later tells her 'sent chills down his spine') is the impetus that starts him killing after waiting for five years. His two victims are practice to make sure things are perfect for Eriko because she is his ideal woman.
+ So I guess Eriko didn't get back together with her boyfriend from last season if she's going on an omiai.
+ I liked the Eriko/team interactions over her omiai especially the office scene directly after it. The teasing was fun.
