I've finally gotten around to starting the final season of Chuck over the last couple days. Perhaps because I haven't watched an episode in such a long time but overall I've been strangely unmoved and even a little meh. That said I do find myself enjoying the episodes more as the season progresses.

5x01

- I'm a bit disappointed with what Chuck and Sarah did, or rather didn't, do with Volkoff Industries and all it's assets. I can understand why the show would want to keep them in Burbank and keep the story small but it feels like they really wasted a lot of the opportunity given to them.

5x02

- I liked Gertrude and her Verbanski Corp.

- I found Sarah's "if it's competition you want I suggest you watch your back" a bit embarrassing. Carmichael Industries is no where in the same league as Verbanski Corp.

- It's very clear by the end of the episode that the Intersect is causing a lot of Morgan's behaviour and is increasingly affecting him but that doesn't really help the fact that I found him very annoying and whiny all episode. Plus I don't think all of it can be blamed on the Intersect. The store scene felt pure Morgan.

5x03

- Casey trying to decide which gun to take on his first date with Gertrude was adorable.

- I find Chuck being so unwilling to consider that something could be wrong with Morgan, besides ego and a power trip, to be kind of unbelievable.

- Why would Chuck call Morgan instead of Sarah or Casey when he learned about the kill order? They're both right there and they're the professional spies who know how to deal with this kind of thing. Also Morgan still has the Intersect that's messing with him still in his head.

5x04

- I liked Morgan wanting to use/play with the Intersect one last time and that they humoured him.

- Shouldn't they have tested him after it's removal to make sure that it was really gone?

- I find it a bit sad that Morgan ended up watching Star Wars alone. That definitely seems like something that he and Chuck should gleefully have done together.

- I don't know why they were relying on the lying test when Sarah showed that a skilled enough liar can fool it. Wouldn't a master assassin have that ability as well?

- Casey took out the Viper, and all her minions, pretty easily for someone who was a master assassin. It was a pretty badass scene but also a bit shocking considering how the team uses darts far more often than bullets.

- The final dinner scene between the cast was lovely.

5x05

- I loved Sarah's affectionate look when Chuck was hacking.

- I really enjoyed the Chuck/Sarah/Gertrude mission. I loved getting to see Chuck using his computer skills which is something that I don't think we really get to see enough of anymore. I liked the Sarah/Gertrude bonding.

- Why the hell though would they trust Decker for even a second? Especially to the extent of giving him something that could be so devastating. In secret, in an underground parking garage. Before he fulfilled his side of the bargain. Nothing about that was a good idea.

- I quite enjoyed Gertrude blowing up Decker.

- I find Chuck and Sarah angsting about whether they want to be in the spy life or not, yet again, annoying. I thought they'd moved past that.

5x06

- "I'm proud of you moron." - Casey. Casey's been calling Morgan moron a lot lately so it was nice to hear him say it with an affectionate tone.

- I loved Beckman giving the team a warning to run away.

- Chuck's lack of trust in Sarah was very annoying as was his preoccupation with the 'Bartowski curse'. I felt like she forgave him far too quickly.

- "Rescuing Bartowski's is my business." - Casey.

- "Well done team. - Beckman. Yeah, I don't know about that. If Chuck hadn't gone off half-cocked the virus wouldn't have been released. That would have been a job well done.
