The Consultant
+ I was a bit confused at the beginning because I was under the apparently erroneous impression that it was red!Broyles who was the shapeshifter not amber!Broyles and I have no idea how I made that mistake or kept it for as long as I did.
+ I'm really glad that Broyles turned himself in. His actions already had really horrible consequences but if he'd put the unknown technology on the machine it undoubtedly would have had universe shaking consequences and I loved that he did have a line and that he chose to do the right thing. I'm a little amused that he chose to do so after Walter told him he probably wouldn't if given another chance.
So Broyles basically sacrificed his son doing what he did - what's going to happen to him now? I was a little surprised we didn't have Walter volunteering to analysis the medicine and attempt to replicate it.
+ I really liked the Walter/red!Olivia scenes at Olivia's apartment. It was lovely. I loved the short moment when he's making her eggs and she leaning into him, holding his arm and resting her head on his shoulder - it was adorable. Two thoughts:
1) this is the emotional payoff I've been wanting - except for blue!Olivia with the red!verse. I loved this but oh how I want that same amount of emotional follow-up for blue!Olivia. Considering Olivia's non-reaction to red!Lincoln's death and lack of talking about it with red!Olivia I'm guessing that I just need to accept that it's never going to happen.
(I think ideally, other than him not being dead, I was hoping for the Olivias to talk to each other. About red!Lincoln with blue!Olivia revealing that she remembers her time as red!Olivia, about loss and life. Certainly Olivia knows about losing a partner.)
2) It made me realise how little blue!Olivia/amber!Walter interactions we've had lately. Theirs has always been one of my favourites. I realise things have been very unstable - amber!Walter is not blue!Walter and now amber!Olivia is gone and blue!Olivia is back and it's all a confusing mess but oh, I miss their relationship.
+ I loved Olivia bluffing Nina.
+ The Astrid/Astrid scene was great though I don't know why they both had to be there. I love how gentle amber!Astrid is with her counterpart and the coffee gift was great.
+ I loved Astrid's coat at the beginning. So pretty.
+ "It's my son and his girlfriend." - Walter That made me aw and really reminded me of Walter in season two. He's just so proud and happy about them being together. I could do without his insinuations about their sex life though.
