1x13 'Commitment'

+ The situation with Amily resolved itself much better than I was expecting. Amily is alive, not in jail and is even more devoted and loyal to Emily all of which make me happy.

+ Daniel's proposal really was very sweet and romantic.

+ If Ashley believes that Victoria is now a 'sinking ship' (and I agree from her POV) then why would she be so jealous of Emily marrying into the family? Surely that would be even worse. Or does she image that either Victoria's disgrace won't affect Daniel or that Daniel will still be his father's heir regardless and so Emily will still benefit?

+ I liked the Emily/Charlotte scene. I've never cared about them before but with this new information and change in their relationship I find myself really interested. The fact that Charlotte is happily accepting Emily as a sister(-in-law) while Emily knows they're half-sisters makes it all the more interesting. I can't wait to see where the show goes with it.

+ I loved the exchange between Emily and Nolan on the beach. His "baby steps" and casual attempt to put his arm around her shoulders to comfort her and the way his proud/happy little smile didn't change at all when she said "don't do that" even as he immediately pulls back ... it was all so adorable. They are so delightful.

1x14 'Perception'

+ "I shudder to think of what Emily's going to do to you as your wife." - Conrad. Hee.

+ I liked Charlotte's casual "Hey, Ems" at the photo session and her smile when she saw the invitation. We really need a scene of just the two of them doing something together. I mean why does Charlotte like Emily so much? They hardly spend any time together. Because Victoria hates her, or because Daniel loves her?

+ Oh, Nolan. His reactions while Jack talked were amazing. I completely understand why he made the choice he did. His friendship with Jack proves to be real even from Jack's side and for Nolan loyalty and friendship are so important. And I love that he and Jack have become actual friends by this point. Mostly though - his face while listening to Jack and to little Amanda on the tape... he cares so much.

+ That was the shortest interview ever. They could have a) cut elsewhere after Nolan put the tape in and then returned to them watching the end of the tape (what we saw), or b) cut away after the part we saw and the returned later if necessary.

+ The Conrad/Charlotte scene was lovely. He's horrible, and him spilling the truth at dinner was all about using Charlotte to strike back at Victoria, but I do buy that he honestly loves his daughter.

+ I loved Emily showing actual empathy and compassion and trying to stop one of her revenge schemes. I love that it was for her sister. It's not her fault it blew up from a different direction. Nolan would have been so proud.

+ "My father is dead Declan. Just like yours." - Charlotte This bothered me and not because of the way Charlotte is making 'biological relation > person who raised you' though I hate that whole idea. She's upset and is still trying to work through her feelings. I can understand that. What really upset me was this exact quote and her equivocating her situation with Declan's. I find it so insensitive and self-absorbed and rude. Declan's father is dead. David Clark is also dead but she never met him nor knows anything about him. Meanwhile Charlotte has a man out there who loves her and raised her and whom she calls daddy. He's alive. What she pulled here was so wrong and selfish.
