Necessary Roughness 2x10 Thoughts

+ A part of me figured that my increasing belief over the season that Nico is in love with Dani was simply me reaching because I ship them. At the very least I've been sure that Nico cares for her a lot and considers her a friend but even with little moments that made me think there was more going on I still didn't really believe the show was going to go there. At least not this season. And then there was this episode.
I loved all the Dani/Nico interactions and with each scene my belief in Nico's feelings grew stronger until it was unexpectedly confirmed in their final one. Nico covering for her and concealing that fact that she sent him to break into TK's (and the mere fact that he did something illegal just because she asked him to); their first scene in her office with him trying to reassure her that he'll protect her; the fact that in all this mess he seemed most angry about Dani being spied on.
Then there was this exchange at the bar between Nico and Vera:
Nico: I don't like letting people down.
Vera: People? You mean Dani? Your friend.
Nico: Yeah.
So much subtext there. The way that Vera immediately goes to Dani, the way she says "friend", and the way Nico says 'yeah' after the smallest of pauses - as if he was confirming something. I was pretty gleeful after this scene. I went through my usual - squee Nico's feelings!/but probably not going anywhere. So I was really not prepared for the final scene.
Dani: (crying) Would you please leave? I want to be alone.
Nico: No. Dani. I've never let you down and I don't intend to start now. .... Look at me. Look at me. You are not alone.
... *squeee* That scene was 100% set up to have romantic overtones. I mean there was even almost a kiss there - the way he kept looking from her eyes to her lips after she looked at him. The way he said no... I'm loving this. I love so much how protective Nico is of Dani.
+ My only reservation with Dani/Nico is the timing. It just feels far too soon post-Matt. They only broke up three episodes ago, and were having break-up sex up until the previous episode. Dani was very much in love with Matt, and still is. There's been no real time to really get over him. If Dani does get together with Nico now I'm afraid that will mean it'll end up only being a rebound relationship for her and I really don't want that.
Of course just because we now know for sure that Nico does have feelings for Dani that doesn't necessarily mean that anything is going to happen between them any time soon. I'm not even sure if Dani even realises that Nico cares for her more than a friend. I can see her suspecting something but I can also see her not. And even if she does realise she doesn't feel the same way so it doesn't mean it will go anywhere. Regardless I am really excited to see where things go next.
+ As for the rest of the show it was okay. Dani's clients were fine and it was great to see Captain Awesome on another show. Ray Jay's storyline was boring as was Jeanette's. TK's pill addiction/bad behaviour is getting old and I'm not fond about the latest 'twist' to it at the end of the episode.
