Nikita 2x22 & 2x23 Thoughts

iaria2x22 'Crossbow'
+ Nikita (and the others) breaking into Division felt a bit too easy. Even if almost no one knew about that back way in to Division you'd think Amanda would have done more than just weld a cover on top and take away the ladder. Where's the real security? Shouldn't there be motion detectors, cameras and similar things?
+ ...And reoccurring Division agent #4 (also known as Robbie) is dead. Of course. I did like the added depth him being the Division agent gave his scenes with Alex.
+ I thought the show had dropped Birkoff's implied crush on Nikita but then we get him checking out her cleavage and the kiss goodbye so maybe that's back? Or maybe it was just him taking what could be his final chance to do something he always wanted to? Regardless I actually loved it. I thought it was sweet perhaps largely because of his whispered “May the force be with you.” and her smile.
+ Seriously, why can't we get more of a Nikita/Alex moment anymore? Their nod was great but considering there was a good chance that Nikita could die something more would have been nice! The Birkoff goodbye was great. Why couldn't Alex get a moment like that too?
+ I thought Birkoff's description of Division as "teaming hordes of psycho killers" was... a little weird? In a way?
+ What was with Nikita walking around with her robe open? It isn't just her and Michael anymore. Not only is Birkoff around but so is Ryan, and Sean's around as well.
2x23 'Homecoming'
+ I loved how the episode ended. Nikikta going in to save the Division agents, and making a deal with Ryan and her talk with Michael, and I really love that the episode closed with Nikita telling Alex "here we go again."
+ I really wasn't expecting Percy to die, especially not after he got everything lined up so perfectly for his future and escape, and I definitely was not expecting Nikita to kill him! I do love that it was basically his own ego that got him killed - he could have walked away and if he had he would have won but instead he had to knock Nikita down a peg and that got him killed. It was an excellent death but it will be very strange to not have him lurking around, playing puppet master and causing Team Nikita grief. Oh, and I love that his last word was 'Nikita'. Perfect.
+ Shouldn't one of those soldiers have been ordered to help Nikita get Percy up considering the threat he posed? The fact that everyone was standing around while he dangled was weird.
+ That last Nikita/Michael scene at the Farm was beautifully shot.
+ You know the end of the episode, and next season with Team Nikita in charge, would have had even more resonance if all those Division agents weren't just random faces but actual people we'd met and knew. Like Sonja. I'd have loved to have seen Stephen's reaction for instance.
+ Aw, poor Roan. He cared about Percy, he grieved when he died, he wasn't simply loyal. I was actually hoping he'd survive to be a thorn in Nikita's side next season as he tries to get revenge for Percy's death. That could have been fun. Plus Roan is just so scary and kind of fascinating. I wish we could have learned more about him.
+ Alex continuing to fight even after Roan broke her arm was badass.
+ I figured that if any of the main characters died it would be Sean especially after he and Alex separated to go after Roan. And going into the episode I was okay with this simply because he's my least favourite but... I was actually quite enjoying Sean/Alex and his attempts to ask her out were cute so in the end I'm glad he wasn't killed off.
+ I was hoping for Nikita to be in charge of Division but I guess even with how fast this show moves it's still a bit soon for that. I mean if she was the leader she couldn't travel the world kicking ass now could she?
+ I hope next season we get to see more of Michael's relationships with the Division agents - most of whom he either trained or worked with.
