True Blood Season 5 Thoughts
Sep. 13th, 2012 03:09 pmI haven't watched True Blood since the middle (or so) of season 4. I mostly just lost interest in it. But then I caught a bit of 5x12, enjoyed what I saw and that in turn lead me to watching selected scenes from season 5 on You Tube.

+ I loved the Tara/Jessica bonding at the bar so it was really too bad about the Hoyt thing.
+ Sookie's little giggle fest and "must be Thursday rant' was really amusing.
+ Loved Sookie's little monologue at Eric and Bill when they tried to force her to wait outside.
5x06
+ "You will always protect Sookie. With your life. But you'll keep your hands off her. Romantically speaking. She kind of disgusts you." - Eric. LOL. Hilarious but at the same time I don't blame Sookie for being pissed.
+ I like Molly. That little moment between her and Eric - "Wouldn't that be ironic?"/"But funny" - was amusing.
5x07
+ Eric giving Bill a piggy-back ride was hilarious. Can they be drugged more often? Man, I wish Sookie was there for that.
+ The Tara/Pam scene was excellent. I loved Pam actually being supportive and comforting. I also loved the hug - Pam even returned it for a moment.
+ Jason shooting Jess in the head was really fucked up. I mean her biting him was pretty bad too but I guess at this point it's like vampires = biting = eh whatever in my head so him shooting her was far more shocking. It felt wronger.... but I don't know that it was. He was protecting himself and as a vampire the injury a) disappeared within seconds, and b) while it hurt it didn't hurt as much as you'd think.
When they hooked up I was pleased because I figured they'd be good for each other. That they'd be sweet. Instead we have Jason having massive issues with vampires again because of his parent's deaths and behaving like a bigot and an asshole. Again. I like fucked up relationships but I'm wary here.

+ Tara has really been looking great since becoming a vampire. I loved her smack down of Tracy.
+ “You don’t know me that well. My mad face and my happy face are the same.” I love Pam. And aww she gave Tara a former tormentor as a gift. She does care! Sweet and so very creepy and wrong.
+ The Jason/Sookie relationship remains the best Jason one yet. I do love them. I liked Jason talking sense to Sookie. Now if only she could return the favour.
Sookie: Jason! Are you all right?
Jason: I’m fine. You got me in the head.
LOL.
5x09
+ I liked the Lafayette/Sookie scenes and they really made me miss both their relationships with Tara. I hope next season rebuilds their relationships with her.
5x10
+ I loved Sookie killing Mike with chopsticks while he was feeding on her. Also the Andy/Sookie scene afterward was nice.
+ It sucks Molly was killed.
+ "We're not running. No one fucks with us in our house." - Tara. Awesome. It's only going to bring bad things but still awesome.
+ I loved Russell's rant. I love that his true accent came out during it.
+ The Hoyt/Jessica/Jason scene was really well done, and I felt really sad for Jess and Jason but at this point I dislike Hoyt so much I was mostly happy he was leaving. And so glad I'll never have to watch Jessica apologizing to him again.

+ I loved the Jessica/Tara/Pam scenes. I love that Tara and Jessica have made up. "I like talking to you." Aww. I hope next season we get to see them being friends.
