So Harmony, Heather, Genevieve, and Abby are all going to be gone. Harmony I don't care about at all so that's fine.

Genevieve didn't bother me when I read about it since I'm fairly neutral about her. However I actually really liked her scenes with Jack in Friday's show and I think a resurgence of their relationship could have been nice.

Heather I sadly find boring so I won't miss her either. That said considering everything going on with her dad and her new relationship with Daniel I find it really weird that she would be leaving.

The biggest WTF for me was definitely Abby. I read a review with the new head writer and he talked about wanted to get back to the core families - and who is more 'core family' then Abby? She's both an Abbott and a Newman! It makes no sense to me whatsoever for the show to get rid of her on that basis alone. If they don't like her characterization then they can change it but to dump the character completely seems like a dumb decision to me.

Sept 26

+ The confrontation at the church and how things played out afterward turned out not as badly as I was expecting for the simple reason that Sharon just did not give a fuck. When Victor showed up she smiled, when he was scolding her/confronting her on what she'd done she seemed honestly kind of amused and somewhat bored. Certainly there was no shame or embarrassment or regret happening. The most negative emotion Sharon portrays the entire episode comes at the end when she's shocked and disgruntled/angry when Tucker shut the door in her face.

+ I was really glad that Neil didn't join in on the Sharon hate fest. That the only comment he has is that she's 'alienated everyone who's cared for her'.

+ I love that now everyone who was involved in the Phyllis storyline is now back and involved again. Nina's "are you kidding? I'm not missing this!" was amusing even if the actual confrontation was less then I was hoping for. Largely because Phyllis simply walked away.

And after her seemingly completely unprompted attack on Christine. It was pretty tacky especially considering her son was standing right beside her and really Phyllis is the last person who should be judging who others have slept with.

I loved Lauren's defense of Cristine - "I've slept with them all too and I don't feel awkward." - and Michael's less pleased "That's great, honey." Hee.

+ I can't believe that no one told Adam that Victor was alive.

Sept 27

+ Doris really got on my last nerve with her attitude towards Sharon but I am glad that she is at least offered her support.

+ The Nikki/Sharon confrontation was making me feel nostalgic. It's like being back at the beginning of their relationship complete with Nikki trying to bribe Sharon. Nikki's "since when?" when Sharon said she couldn't buy her was kind of dumb - since always. Nikki's tried this before and Sharon has never accepted. She's certainly not going to now for a couple measly million.

But what the hell does Sharon mean by "Victor's shown me a whole new way of life"? What life exactly? How was her life while married to Victor significantly different then while married to Nick or Jack? It's not like she's spent the last few decades poor. I don't understand. I don't like this... tone of Sharon being a gold-digger because despite Nikki's accusations it's never really be true. (Sure at the beginning she was taken by it but I think that was understandable.)

Sept 28

+ "I'll make sure that woman gets what's she has coming to her." - Victor. It's as if they're speaking of some person who they've only known a short while. Sharon has been a member of their family for over 2 decades. She and Victor have always been really close! Am I the only one remembering that? Hearing him call her "that woman" is jarring. It's as if all those years and feelings never existed.

Even more jarring is that he's saying that immediately after talking about Faith and it being her birthday - and seemingly completely ignoring the fact that Sharon is Faith's mother! Yes, I'm sure having her mother arrested would be an excellent way to acknowledge Faith's birthday.

+ Of course this isn't the only time Victor's 'condemned her to prison' - there was also when he plead the 5th during Sharon's murder trail and was willing to let her go to jail. For that alone he be willing to forgive and forget. He owes her. Also I hate how he dated and married his daughter-in-law as a response to Nikki dating someone else, basically using her just as much as Tucker did, and yet nothing is his fault. Ugh.

+ "I can finally say that I was right about her. She's nothing but a heartless tramp who's only after money. I knew that the moment I laid eyes on her." - Nikki. Yeah, no. I think if it takes decades for your opinion on someone to be proven true that indicates less that you were right and more that that person has changed drastically.

+ I was annoyed when Nikki said that Victor thinks the kids would be better off without Sharon in their lives. Who the hell is Victor to decide that?

+ The Victor/Sharon scene was horrible. God, he's a ass. She did nothing any worse then he's done - in fact I'm pretty sure he's done worse to his own family. I really want her to get the better of him in some way but I know that will never happen.

+ I quite enjoyed the Jack/Genevieve scenes. In fact I was surprised to find that I wouldn't mind them getting back together.

+ I also liked the Tucker/Sharon scene. I believed that he was sorry about what was happening to her and I liked that. It gave him back some much needed humanity/softness to his character. I also liked Sharon breaking down - the first time she has - and it happening at this moment worked for me because she thought he was her friend, that he had her back, and learning the truth about what he was doing seemed to hurt more than anything else.

+ I can't believe Sharon is in jail and with no support and Phyllis is still free and has a bunch of support. Daniel has been mad at his mom but he still supports her meanwhile Noah has now seemingly washed his hands of his mom. Unbelievable. But if they really are going to have Sharon in jail then hopefully Phyllis will join her there. They could be cellmates! That could potentially be really fun.
