Once Upon a Time 2x01 Thoughts

I really enjoyed it!
+ My favourite parts were the Snow/Emma interactions. They were fabulous and perfect. I loved Snow’s reaction when she first saw Snow and the family group hug and Snow’s laugh when Henry called Charming ‘grandpa’. The scene where Snow demands to talk to Emma was great. I loved how proud Snow looked when Emma refused to let Regina die. I loved Snow following Emma into the portal. Their relationship is the one I’m most excited to see.
+ I loved the the exchange between Charming and Snow over her one-night stand. "We were cursed. That's neither here nor there." lol. His expression was great and I love how dismissive she was of it.
+ I liked the twist that Mulan and Aurora’s storyline was actually taking place after the events of Storybrook in this episode and that they were still in the Enchanted Forest.
+ I loved Emma and Snow being sucked back into the Enchanted Forest.
+ There were a few little Emma/Regina moments I liked - Emma helping her up after the first wrath attack, and pushing her out of the way during the second, and I love the fact that it's Emma touching her that finally gets her magic to work again.
- The only negative to Emma being in the Enchanted Forest is the fact that we probably won’t have any Emma/Regina scenes in awhile. I do really love that Regina is now going to have to save Emma and Snow.
+ I realise the show is in a bit of a difficult place since a number of significant characters – though mainly Mary/Snow and David/Charming – have two names but they seriously need to stick to one or the other. This episode had them start with their Enchanted Kingdom names but by the end they were using their Storybrooke names. It bugged me. I think they should use their Enchanted names since it appears that's who they are. I didn't really see any of the Mary Margaret or David personalities in them so it seems weird that it's what they'd call each other.
+ Like most times the show adds their own twist to the fairy tales – Rumpelstiltskin also being the Beast, for example – I’m torn on Mulan being Philip’s partner and especially her being in love with him. I noticed that when he threw ‘I love you’ over his shoulder before dying it was open as to whom he was talking to so the show is clearly leaving it open for a triangle. I guess it will depend how it plays out. I really don't want Mulan and Aurora as rivals. Plus Li Shang is one of my favourite Disney love interests so I hope he's still going to show up.
+ I loved the Snow/Red reunion.
+ I’m really glad that we are finally getting some emotion from Henry about Regina. Evil queen, horrible person - sure. But she also raised him and while maybe a bit strict was still a pretty good mom. His complete disconnect from her was weird. So it was nice to hear him call her mom and be worried for her.
+ I was annoyed that Mulan and Aurora didn’t really try to save Philip. They kind of just stood there and screamed. Meanwhile Snow was awesome and quick-thinking during her first encounter with the wrath.
+ I think the man at the beginning was Baelfire. (I still love the idea of him being Henry's father but it's unlikely to happen.)
