Nikita 3x01 Thoughts

I liked it.
+ “You know what Martin? You were right. Loved ones are a liability. It’s a good thing I have more than one.” - Nikita And then Alex appears behind Martin and it was awesome. Best moment of the episode.
+ I loved the Nikita/Alex reunion. The hug! The smiles! ♥
+ The proposal was lovely.
+ I loved the shot of Alex walking into the hotel with her 'entourage' of Division agents.
+ "To get your engagement ring!" LOL. Still even though I laughed and loved Nikita's expression it wasn't the smartest move Michael could have made. Engagement rings are replaceable, he isn't. He was lucky the guy was coming out - was he really going to fight his way through the entire building? It was a dumb move. At the very least they could have mentioned that it was a family heirloom to give some reason for why Michael had to use that specific ring. I figured they'd be getting ready to leave China and he'd tell Nikita he had one little thing to take care of and then we'd flash over to him ambushing the guy and stealing the ring back. That would have been a lot smarter.
+ I liked the little 'normal' scene at the beginning with Nikita going to yoga class and actually considering going for tea with a couple of women from class.
+ I don't understand why Ryan isn't keeping Nikita (and Michael) in the loop about just how much Division is on thin ice with the government. If Nikita she'd try and help him and would be a lot more circumspect on missions. I can't see any reason why he would need to keep it a secret. I hope that Ryan spits out the truth and soon because I think this could very quickly feel contrived. I don't even think they need the added tension. For years now Nikita has been completely in charge of what she did, and as others joined her of their joint missions, so of course taking orders, especially ones she doesn't agree with, are going to cause tension. Added to that you have Ryan as her boss and while she likes him and trusts him, and he was an ally, he doesn't have the experience Nikita does so I can how that could create conflict as well.
+ I liked how Birkoff complied with Ryan's orders in public so he wouldn't undermine him then confronted him in private. I think Birkoff is going to be a really important ally for Ryan as he's feeling his way around his new job.
+ It looks like Birkoff has some adjusting of his own to do. During the mission he kept taking over people's stations, yelling at them and basically trying to do everything himself. I wonder if that will end up being an issue later?
