Coup de Grace

I really enjoyed this episode (even more than the previous one).

• I love Nikita and Alex working together. I knew it would be awesome. I love them hanging out in Nikita’s loft, I love them actually being face to face when scheming. I love them. Actually while I love the spy stuff I really want more of them just hanging out together like that last scene.

• I knew from the very beginning that Princess Kristina was behind it so it made Nikita not realising it, or even considering it as a possibility, a bit annoying.

• It was great to see Brendan Fehr again. I wish that we had gotten a little more about him especially on his relationship with Nikita. Michael appeared to hold Steven in high esteem and trusted him as a good agent. What we saw of him didn’t really line up with that. I hope we see Steven again so that we can see them interact. Steven appears to be an older agent, as far as years with Division, so he has to have known Nikita. But there was no hint of that when they interacted in this episode. I suppose it’s possible that they didn’t really know each other well but it’d be nice to explore Nikita’s relationship, previous and current, with other members of Division than the main cast.

“People in love don’t try to kill each other.”
“Are you serious?”

Hee. I love how she said that. I have to agree with her – I love it when people in love try and kill each other. I couldn’t help but think of Michael and Nikita, possibly on purpose since the show had Alex bring up their relationship earlier, and wonder if they are in love. I think that this episode pretty definitively answered yes. Michael and Nikita were in love, at some point at least, and that the love is still there. He may have chosen duty over love but he still offered to let her go.

“I mean I never got one of those demerits but I hear they suck.” Hee. I love when Nikita is so casual about how awesome she is and when she rubs it in her enemies faces.

• I loved Alex smirking at Steven’s back after Nikita knocked out the camera.

• I appreciated Nikita breaking the heels off her shoes at the very beginning. I also loved her fight with the two guards where she used the sword. She looked pretty stunning this episode – the dress was a good look for her and I loved her lounging in a chair at the end. She was very sexy.

• Alex was awesome this episode. It sounds weird but I loved her breaking Leela’s finger which was quick thinking and saved the day. The way she worked with Nikita throughout the episode was pretty impressive.

• Nikita giving Alex a wine glass of almond milk instead of wine amuses me. Is that a drink Alex really likes or is this because she’s only 19 and it’s illegal for her to drink alcohol? Because if it’s the latter of all the illegal things she does drinking is the one that is the least problematic.

• I’ve been under the impression that Michael was already suspicious of Alex – did the Nikita capture really ally them? I guess it doesn’t matter because he now has some damning evidence against her. Yeah, there could be some explanation for Alex’s “where are you” but not really for her frantic and clearly worried expression. It’ll be interesting to see where the show is going with this because I would have thought it was way too soon for Michael to figure out the truth about Alex.
