• Emma/Snow continue to be delightful. I love them so much. I loved how they switched places in reassuring each other that everything would work out.
• Henry/Regina bonding. It was just really nice to see Henry being more open with her and not automatically pushing her away. He was also showing a lot of trust towards her (that she's been keeping her promise about magic, about James's safety).
• The Aurora/Cora confrontation was excellent. I loved seeing Aurora stand up to Cora - not only not falling for her attempt at temptation but basically throwing it back in her face. I also really liked her determination to help the others. I love the show letting her be badass in her own way and without her having to physically kicking ass.
• I love the repeated family mentions - Snow calling James "you father" to Emma, and Regina calling Snow and James "your grandparents" to Henry.
• James/Snow remain charming and I do love his devotion and faith in Snow. Also I really love that he's now in a coma/asleep and Snow is going to have to save him with true loves kiss.
• I loved Granny immediately deciding to clear out the diner as soon as Regina showed up. Heh.
• Even though I didn't like a lot of how it played out I actually did like that Mulan took the compass and was going to trade it for Aurora, and that Snow held an arrow to Mulan's throat and that neither of them were planning on backing down. They're temporarily allies but that doesn't mean they are always in agreement and I love how ruthless each of them are willing to be.
• Loved Snow communicating with the crow.
Annoyances
• Mulan. Two things: 1) the continuing lack of development for her character is starting to bug me, and 2) basically all she is right now is her fighting ability... and then this episode has Snow and Emma both dealing with the zombies better than her. WTF?! And then Snow gets the better of her. ... Seriously? Look, I love Snow and I love that she kicks ass but no, just no. I'm pissed.
• Henry not using the amulet. It'd be one thing if it only worked once, or he tried and couldn't get it to work but he didn't and then he gives it to David who does end up using it and it just makes Henry look stupid/the whole thing smells like plot contrivance and it annoys me.
• Regina and magic. I don't like what the show is doing with this. Henry saying it's okay to use magic if it's to help people had me hoping for a second and then we get Regina still promising not to use magic. Ugh.
Other
• Is that Maleficent's raven? Between that and the spindle I find myself missing my favourite Disney villain. I wish this show hadn't done such a horrible job with her. Also if I'm hopelessly wishing I wish they'd bring her back and do something awesome with her.
• I love Mulan's determination to protect Aurora but I wish that we could get some bonding between the girls and for that protectiveness to start being about Aurora and not Philip.
• I find Hook taking Aurora's heart a bit confusing. You have to have magic to do that right? And thus far we have seen Hook using no magic - even when he really needed it. So...
