• I love the Brennan/Hannah friendship. I am very happy with the direction the show is going with them and this episode really highlighted one thing I think the show is doing really right this season. Instead of jealousy, passive-aggressiveness and bitchyness we’re given honest and sincere friendship, concern and understanding.
• I am most gleeful about how the whole ‘Brennan confesses her love for Booth’ situation was made mostly about Brennan and Hannah trying not to hurt each other. It wasn’t really about their individual relationships with Booth, there was no jealousy or anger – it was all about the two of them trying to best preserve their friendship. When Brennan confronts Hannah about avoiding her Hannah’s response is: “I would have done the same thing and you would have understood. Right? I wasn’t avoiding you I was just confused. I don’t want to do anything to mess up your friendship with Seely. Or my friendship with you.” That is exactly why I love Hannah so much. I love that they could take that ‘confrontation’ about one woman confessing her love to another’s boyfriend and – make it about the women and their relationship, and that the scene could end with them smiling sincerely at each other. There was some understandable awkwardness between them but surprisingly little. Instead it was Brennan being worried about hurting Hannah, and Hannah worrying about hurting Brennan and just being so understanding.
• I liked that the final scene ended with them drinking together.
• I love Hannah and her relationships with both Booth and Brennan. The Hannah/Booth scenes this episode were also great. At this point I think I could even be fine with Booth and Hannah ending up married. It will never happen of course but maybe the Brennan/Hannah friendship will be strong enough to keep Hannah on the show?
• I liked that Angela wasn’t jealous of the Brennan/Hannah friendship or at all territorial about Brennan. Their chat about Hannah was really nice.
