Nikita Thoughts

• First, of course - Nikita cut off Michael's hand! I did not see that coming. Wow.
• I really love how this show tears through things that other shows would drag out for drama - Birkoff keeping Sonya being the mole a secret, Alex being back on drugs and Michael figuring it out. I like how nothing stays secret for long.
• "Hey I know it’s been a rough day. But we’ll talk about your relapse when I get back." - Nikita. I loved how she said this - all soft voiced and concerned and with the arm stroking. I like that while she was initially shocked and upset over Alex's relapse and the lies she got over it quickly after one surprised outburst and was completely supportive afterward.
• I liked the Michael/Alex scenes. I liked how Michael handled it. I was really pleased that he was determined to let Alex tell Nikita herself to the point that when confronted with the pictures of them together he still wasn't going to say anything. I wonder though about Nikita not noticing Alex's relapse.
• I liked Michael and Alex's awkward little 'date'. I loved Nikita being there and basically directing the entire thing - "now pretend you like each other" and "be a good little spy and kiss her"* - LOL. I did find the serious eye-contact happening between Michael and Alex after the kiss interesting.
*Though it would have been amazing if after Michael was a little resistant Nikita had immediately turned to Alex and been "kiss him".
• Of course it's dreaming about Nikita being killed because he didn't trust her, and everything else then falling apart, that would motivate Birkoff to tell her the truth.
• Honestly at the end I was kind of expecting Amanda to kill Anne herself in order to save Nikita.
• I liked Amanda's little scene where she realises she's now in the Nikita position and her amusement over it.
• Birkoff doing the surgery on Sonya himself was ridiculous and made me roll my eyes a lot. Seriously? Major, dangerous 6 hour surgery and the tech guy can do it fine?

• I think Michael will do really well being in-charge of things in Operations during missions - as he showed this episode. At least for a little while. It was something he did fairly often under Percy and it's a good way for him to get some confidence back while he heals.
• While I love Team Nikita & Michael I really enjoy Owen and Nikita's relationship with him so I'm glad he's back. I enjoyed their team-up.
• "You are not alone." - Nikita Lovely Nikita/Alex moment but I really wish they'd get more interaction.
• "With you – it’s little ‘why’ dolls stacked up inside bigger ‘why’ dolls. Sorry, that was ethnically insensitive." - Birkoff LOL
• I liked Ryan going to Alex about the Nikita and Michael situation and her advice on how to handle them.
• I liked the Michael/Owen scene and Owen calling Michael out on his behaviour towards Nikita. I loved Owen trying to help Nikita and how the scene just emphasised how much he cares for her. I even quite liked Michael's insecurity and jealous possessiveness over Nikita. It worked. (But please don't let this lead to a love triangle.)
• I loved the little moment with Michael (and everyone in Ops) listening to the Nikita/Liam fight.
• I wonder if Division kept the briefcase, or at least, stole the information on it before leaving? I'm guessing not but it was my first thought. It probably would have lead to a lot of untraceable money for them and is totally something Percy, Amanda or even on the run Nikita (& Michael) would have done.
