True Blood 6x01 Thoughts

I actually rather liked this episode.
Things I Loved
• All the Sookie/Eric stuff was great. His protectiveness towards her the entire episode, her actually trying to kill Bill to save his life, him giving her back her family's house, but their final scene was the best of all. I really loved how those last minute played out.
Sookie: Eric? I wanna be that girl again, the one in the white dress. I want my life back. Which is why I'm rescinding your invitation to my house.
[Eric is forced out to the porch, the door closes between them.]
Eric: Goodnight, Miss Stackhouse.
Sookie: Goodnight, Eric.
I loved everything about this exchange. I loved how she said it - regretfully, sad, but sure - and how he responded - with calm acceptance. It was just lovely.
• The thaw in the Tara/Sookie relationship. I saw a bit of it in 5x13 but it really seems that the show is finally going to have Tara start to forgive Sookie and that makes me so happy. I loved that after Jason declared her dead to him Tara was immediately at Sookie's side with a comforting hand on her shoulder and reassuring words that 'he'd come to his senses'. Then she was all ready to take off with Sookie and Jessica. I want their friendship back.
• Sookie's talk with Jessica on the beach. I've always loved the whole step-mom Sookie thing and this was a really nice scene. I loved her comforting Jessica that she wasn't alone and holding her hand.
• All the Bill/Jessica scenes. I've always loved them so while I'm sad about Jessica turning on Sookie, and so quickly after that lovely beach scene, I love that we're going to be getting more Jessica/Bill family stuff.
• Eric grabbing Tara by her ponytail and pulling her back - it just felt like a very family sort of thing to do.
Things I Liked/Other
• The last Nora/Eric scene was interesting. Nora's revelation over finding Eric's weakness and Eric's threatening "Nora, my darling sister, don't stir this pot." in return and then it ending with Nora's considering look at Sookie. I'm not sure where this is going exactly but it's clear that Nora probably will at some point 'stir that pot'. I kind of can't wait to see that.
• "I see everything so differently now." - Bill. Yeah, that was rather pointed. So what exactly does he think about Sookie now? Something I found interesting - at the beginning when we were in Billith's POV when Sookie said "fuck" this time we see her mouth glow. So does this all have something to do with Sookie being a fairy?
• The Andy/Arlene talk - first with her yelling at him to get his act together and then reassuring him. It was nice.
• Jason wasn't bad. He was definitely too harsh with Sookie but you know he didn't really mean it and he's kind of going a bit crazy right now. I can't blame him for being pissed about Nora messing with his mind.
Him getting into the car and then his complete obliviousness during the entire ride was just so Jason that I actually found it a bit endearing. Same with most of his rambling. Also I loved this line: "And they've gotten kind of racist and scary since they went to heaven." and him looking into the backseat to see them staring at him judgingly. LOL.
• Sam didn't really have much to do so his bit of storyline was okay as well. Though my favourite part was Lafayette's reaction to Emma's announcement that her mother was dead and she was hungry. He's great.
Things I Didn't Liked
• The werewolves. Pretty much everything about them I hated. They are already on the fast-forward list.
• Eric and Sookie running at normal speed away from Billith instead of Eric grabbing Sookie and just zooming them out of there. That made no sense.
• It bugged me a little that Luna, knowing she was dying, didn't tell Emma she loved her.
• Eric being a jackass to Pam and Pam's brooding over it/being an ass in return to Tara. I don't enjoy watching these two being so - separated. I didn't actually hate it and I think it's definitely part of growing pains of him breaking his Maker bond with her and both of them struggling to deal with what that means. I just really want them to get over it quickly and get back to being the team I love.
