3x12 'Reunion'

"It's good to know that my guys have my back." - Audrey. ♥

• I'm sad about Claire's death though I was expecting it. I ended up not loving her as much as I did in her first episode but I did like her and I really liked her friendship with Audrey. Audrey really needs a (female) friend she can trust and talk to who isn't Nathan or Duke. The saddest part for me was Arla's line about how Claire was 'a fighter'.

• It's interesting that even during the talk with Nathan about getting a do-over Duke never once this episode considered that being young again would mean he would get another chance with Audrey. It was all about Nathan and his feelings. Though it wouldn't be Audrey entirely so perhaps Duke just has a stronger line between Audrey's different lives than Nathan?

• I'm sympathetic to Arla and the first skin she stole. Troubles do seem fairly instinctual and uncontrollable especially when they first manifest. Even in this episode the Troubled kills at least 2 people and still gets a happy ever after because Audrey was there to help. So I feel for Arla. But the serial killing to put together a skin to match her original appearance is very much not understandable.

• You know, Lucy made a bunch of choices that had some really bad consequences. She chose to leave that one Troubled trapped in his house - which lead, 27 or so years later, to two teenagers being killed. She chose to leave Arla behind because Arla murdered a girl and stole her skin when her Trouble manifested - which lead to Arla murdering a bunch of people 27 years later. Of course, that may not be the whole story since it was Arla telling it but it's still the start of a pattern. I really hope we get more on Lucy's life next season.

3x13 'Thanks For the Memories'

"I'm not ready to leave. Either of you." - Audrey ♥♥ I love so much how the show is letting Audrey love both Nathan and Duke and there is no judgement about her for it. She loves them both. They love her. The end. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for season 4 and how the relationship between the three of them plays out. I really don't want the normal love triangle.

"Listen, she's trying to help all these people. She is trying to help this town. And it is her choice. It's not yours. It's not mine. I hate it, but it's still her choice." - Duke !♥♥ So much love. How often do you see this? Respecting someone's choices, and their right to decide for themselves, even when it's hard and painful. I love Duke.

• Audrey was pretty awesome throughout. I love how calculated she was when dealing with Arla - letting her into the barn knowing that she'd be revealed as a skinwalker, having Nathan take her body out so she wouldn't be brought back. Her calmness. I loved this exchange (because Audrey is a badass):

"Not that simple. If it was, I could just pick you up and throw you in." - Howard
"No. You couldn't." - Audrey

• There was some excellent Nathan/Duke moments. The two that stick out were 1) the end with Duke rushing forward after Nathan was shot and catching him in his arms and then going after Audrey at Nathan's urging, and 2) their moment before Nathan and Audrey enter the barn and Duke volunteers to stay with Arla:

"Nathan. Make sure she comes back out." - Duke
"I will." - Nathan

• I loved all the Audrey/James stuff. Especially just after he was stabbed and she was holding him in her arms. "The barn saved you last time it'll fix you again." I love how she said that.

• So Arla was clearly sucked into the barn but was Jordan? I hope so because I like her and it would be nice if the show would keep a reoccurring female character for longer than a season.

• I'm really glad that the show was explicit that Jordan's actions were about ending her Trouble and because of how things played out with Nathan.

• Wait, Nathan didn't know that Duke was in love with Audrey? But... what about all the jealousy and distrust of him around Audrey? Was all that nonsense at the beginning of the season seriously just Nathan suddenly believing that Duke would follow in his family's footsteps of murdering people and that he was a danger to Audrey?

• Nope sorry, still finding Nathan/Sarah rather creepy. Also I realise a lot was happening but I'm not entirely sure that I buy Audrey's reaction to learning that James is her and Nathan's son.

• Vince as the leader of the The Guard was completely unexpected. It never even seemed a possibility. And if I had to choose one I would have thought Dave was the most likely to be in The Guard.

• This episode really left more questions than answers and I'm not entirely sure just how much to trust what Howard told Audrey.

- So Howard is the barn? Or so it appears. But then what exactly the barn? A supernatural creature? Alien? I found this interesting - "That's your problem. You're very, very human." Hmm. Indicating he's not? And if she's not Troubled then what is she and why is she immune?

- How exactly would Audrey killing someone she loved stop the Troubles for good? That just doesn't make sense to me. I wonder if perhaps Audrey in her original life somehow started the Troubles? And that bit about this all being a punishment is because of that? She started them, and only she can stop them and until she does she's forced to repeat over and over.

I'm hoping that Lucy had it wrong. That somehow it's love that will end the Troubles and save her. The love of Nathan and Duke, and her love for both of them. I mean where did she even come across this information? Howard?

- Howard did say "it seems like it" re: it being a punishment. That seems to imply that while on the surface it looks like a punishment it's actually not.

- James was definitely dead when Lucy took him to the barn, right? So it can bring people back to life but they're then forced to stay in it forever. Do they become a part of the barn? What if it's someone who is only injured that is taken into the barn?

• Arla's definitely an unreliable source of information but she indicated that Audrey's had many more lives before Sarah which I'm still hoping is true so I liked that.
