Haven 4x03 Thoughts

• It’s interesting how Nathan has been put in Audrey’s place as the person to end the Troubles this season. The first two episodes Nathan helped people get control of their Trouble. Then this episode makes it even more clear when first Jordan tells him "You have to end the Troubles." and then Vince tells Dave "He’s our only chance." Of course everyone seems very caught up on believing a) Audrey loves Nathan most, b) Audrey would kill Nathan even though she’s always refused to kill her loved one before, and c) that it will even be Audrey who returns to Haven considering that when she enters the barn she always returns as a new person.
• This show really does like its sacrifice theme, doesn’t it? Audrey saves Haven by giving up her personality over and over and now Nathan’s being positioned to give up his life, physically, to save Haven. Hopefully this all means that the answer to actually ending the Troubles is something completely different (like love).
• "I’ll tell her to." – Nathan. Yeah, I’m sure that will work. That completely sounds like something that would convince Audrey.
• Lovely Duke/Nathan moment when facing the blood.
- "But I do know exactly what that much troubled blood wants to do to you." – Duke ♥
- "Duke. This isn’t you." – Nathan Wow. That was really satisfying to hear. Can this Nathan go back in time again to smack his season three self upside the head? I guess it takes thinking Duke was dead for him to realise his true feelings.
- I did find Nathan wandering off with the others to make sure that there was no more blood instead of checking on Duke weird. It didn’t really feel organic but instead like an excuse to let Jennifer and Duke have a moment.
• Duke sucking up all that blood was kind of disappointing. Nothing really happened. There was all this build up - Mike couldn't stop the blood even though he wanted to, Nathan couldn't talk him through it (though he has helped other Troubled), worry over Duke's reaction... and it was nothing more then every other time it happened to him.
• "He’s a sponge. For Troubled blood. An evil sponge." – Jordan. LOL.
• I really liked Jordan. Not only did we get her helping with the investigation with minimal aggressiveness but we also really got to see what she’s feeling and why. The first two episodes I felt a little confused and was worried that there was going to be jealousy involved. But, nope. We get to see how horrified she was when she accidentally hurt Mike. Then we get that wonderful scene with Nathan where she straight up tells him "I can't live like this anymore.", reveals that she's hitting the point of passively suicidal and you really see Jordan's desperation. Poor Jordan.
• "I can't touch anything." - Jordan. And it just occurs to me now that this also means animals. That sucks even more.
• We got a lot on Vince’s feelings as well and more than ever I saw how much Vince loved Sarah/Audrey. We also got a nice Vince/Dave scene outside the morgue.
- This makes me wish even more that the show had actually done a Sarah/Vince relationship instead of just having him love her unrequitedly while she pined for Nathan. It would have made everything even more interesting.
• "This is what it must have been like for Nathan watching Audrey walk into that barn." – Vince … Except Vince already knows that feeling. He doesn’t need to sit there to understand what Nathan was feeling. He was in love with Sarah and he watched her walk into that barn.
• I read some speculation that Audrey was still in the barn and so she was. That’s pretty neat. I was hoping that the barn wasn’t really destroyed. I mean it's a non-barn supernatural - thing. It feels like it should be eternal. Or that it should be tied to Audrey not to Howard. I mean Howard died, sure, but now there's William and it appears like he's the avatar replacement for Howard. It's how he's acting at least. Maybe this 'barn' will be destroyed and another will take it's place? (Idea: that could open things up to someone else taking the Audrey role, huh.)
