Things I Loved
• All the Duke/Audrey/Nathan stuff was fabulous. Everything.
- Audrey calling Nathan out at the end. YES! I loved her bringing up Nathan shooting Howard after she had made her choice. I loved that she was angry about it and didn't let it slide. I super love this: Well, you're wrong, Nathan. Because I love you. So that makes this my decision. ♥ That made me soo happy. Now let's see if it gets through Nathan's thick skull.
- Nathan's expressions when he realised Lexie was Audrey and then at the end when Audrey said she loved him.
- The truth about Audrey coming out so quickly. I actually loved that Nathan figured it out himself and that he figured out just as quickly that Duke knew.
- Nathan confronting Duke on not telling him about Audrey and him being angry over Duke lying to him. In a betrayed manner, not the righteous one of season 3. I loved Duke's response to Nathan saying he just wants to end the Troubles and Duke should too: "You're right. I should. Pisses me off that I don't." ♥ I am going to be so disappointed if the show doesn't end OT3 (even though I know how unlikely it is.)
- Nathan bringing up the fact that Duke said he loved Audrey - and not being upset or in any way angry about it. Awesome. I was waiting for that to come back up and it went way better than I ever imagined it would. We'll see if it sticks post Nathan trying to sacrifice himself.
- Nathan and Duke as partners for a case. So Duke can have Nathan's back. Which Nathan acknowledges with a thanks!
- Nathan letting Wade go, even though he just stabbed a guy, because Duke asked him to. This is huge. We've gotten a lot this season (and last for that matter) about Duke's devotion to Nathan but less reciprocation from Nathan. This was a really big moment and I loved it. Granted he let an attempted murderer go and it's definitely going to come back to bite them all in the ass and I only see tragedy in their future over it (poor Duke) but Nathan let him go for Duke. Aww.
- Audrey and Duke conspiring together to protect Nathan.
- Duke having Audrey and Nathan's back as Audrey talks Nathan down during self-sacrificing moment #28 was great.
- Audrey and Duke working together to solve the Trouble and save Nathan.
- The shot of Duke, Audrey and Nathan on one side of the store facing Wade and Jordan as a team. Because that's what they are!
• I loved Gloria. I hope she sticks around because she is delightful and fun.
• I liked Lucassi but I loved how he left - stealing away in the middle of the night after stealing his neighbours cat, lol. Good job, Lucassi. That's probably upped his lifespan back up to the country average instead of whatever the hell Haven's is (I'm guessing somewhere around Sunnydale's.)
• Audrey's new hairstyle is nice.
• While the guys were standing over the first body we got them talking first to the female medical examiner, her female trainee was pointed out to them and then they talked to a female cop. I liked that.
Things I Didn't Like and Other
• Jordan's death makes me frown a lot. I'm not happy that they killed her off. I hate that that means no more Jordan/Dwight or a chance to learn more about their relationship. I don't like that this is how they decided to end her story.
There were two things about how her death played out that I did like - 1) that it was Jordan's actions that bring about her demise. She did bring about a monster, just as Vince told her would happen, and that's what ended up killing her. 2) That in the end she didn't tell Wade anything and lived up (or, well, died) to her desire to not be a monster.
• Jordan/Wade were really ick. I am glad that's forever done with.
• "He doesn't know what he's doing." - Duke Yeah. I'm not buying it. Even before Jordan. A lot of people die because of the Troubles. Most of them normal, innocent people. This episode had four deaths. But the difference between Wade and the various Troubled is that most Troubled don't realise they are or that the deaths and mayhem are their fault. Perhaps Jordan's death can be attributed to the rush he got from Paul's blood, acting like a drug on him, (though that's still not an excuse) but there is no good explanation for Paul's stabbing. Wade could have stabbed Paul in the arm or even just cut him but instead he chose to stab him in the stomach. And he didn't care one whit if Paul died or survived.
• Wade's sudden willingness to kill seems, well, sudden. It doesn't really seem to fit what we've seen of the character thus far. But I don't like or care about him so I'm willing to ignore it.
• We learned a lot about Vince but it just makes me want more. I especially want to know what his Trouble is. What I found most interesting was that Vince and Simon were friends and that later Vince worked with Lucy to kill him. Was he there when Simon died? Did Simon know?
• "Some couples are never meant to be." - Vince
"And some couples are." - Jordan
Ugh. I really hate this whole idea of Audrey/Nathan being 'meant to be'. It's weird because usually I love meant-to-be/soulmates stuff but here - no.
I also really hated Jordan saying it here because the show keeps going back and forth on whether Jordan has been doing everything because of her desire to get rid of her Trouble or because of the whole Nathan situation (the whole 'a woman scorned'). I had decided that it was mostly the former, and was glad. Then they keep throwing moments like this which makes it seem like her vendetta was motivated in part because of Nathan and Nathan/Audrey and its aggravating.
• Nathan asking Duke to 'take care of' Lexie was annoying but, eh, he loves her and wants her safe and happy and everyone was so wonderful so whatever. It wouldn't bother me if it was Nathan saying it to Audrey about Duke so I'm letting it go.
• Jordan's Trouble is still horrible but as Wade proved with the glove, intimacy and people touching her, is not actually something that has to be gone from her life completely. You'd think she would have figured that out earlier.
